Life As Daphne Oh
Hello everyone! I wanted to share this meal I made from my streak and mushroom meal prep.
There’s something special about turning a simple meal prep into a comforting dish. Using my seasoned steak meal prep, I created a hearty plate of steak and gravy served over creamy grits that’s full of flavor and perfect for any time of day.
Juicy, tender steak bites simmered in a savory, homemade gravy paired with smooth, buttery grits
Turn your meal prep into something amazing. One plate at a time. I will share other meals I make with the meal prep as well. You can view the steak meal prep video below 👇🏾

🩵 Through Every Session | Autism Acceptance Month 💙
Therapies That Support Growth:
Think of therapy like a set of helpful tools. Each one designed to support growth in a different way.
✨ Speech Therapy:
Helps with communication whether it’s speaking, understanding language, or using other ways to express thoughts and feelings.
✨ Occupational Therapy (OT):
Focuses on everyday skills like getting dressed, writing, playing, or managing sensory experiences. It helps make daily life feel smoother and more comfortable.
✨ Behavioral Therapy (like ABA):
Supports learning and positive behaviors and helping individuals build skills, navigate challenges, and gain confidence in different environments.
Each therapy is tailored to the individual because every journey is unique, and support should be too.

🩵 Our Story Is Bigger Than The Boxes | Autism Acceptance Month 💙
Breaking Autism Stereotypes:
Stereotypes are like cloudy filters that prevent us from seeing the full picture. Many people think autism looks one specific way. However, in reality, autism is a wide and beautiful spectrum.
Some common stereotypes include:
• “All autistic individuals are the same”
• “They don’t communicate or express emotions”
• “They lack empathy or connection”
But the truth is every individual is unique. Some are talkative, some are quiet. Some show emotions outwardly, while others express them in different ways. Some may need support, while others live very independently.
✨ Why It Matters:
When we let go of stereotypes, we create space for understanding, acceptance, and real connection. We begin to see people for who they truly are. Not assumptions, but individuals with strengths, talents, and their own stories.

Self-Care For Parents And Caregivers:
Caring for someone on the autism spectrum is a journey filled with love, patience, and dedication. It also requires energy, strength, and emotional balance. Think of yourself like a light. When you take time to recharge, your light shines brighter for everyone around you.
✨ Simple Ways to Practice Self-Care:
• Taking a few quiet moments to breathe and reset
• Asking for help when you need it because you don’t have to do it alone
• Doing something you enjoy, even if it’s just for a few minutes
• Connecting with others who understand your journey
• Giving yourself grace on both the easy and challenging days
Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s necessary. When you care for yourself, you’re better able to show up with love and patience for those who depend on you.

🩵 Confidence Blooming in the Most Beautiful Way | Autism Acceptance Month 💙
Growing Confidence & Self-Esteem:
Confidence is a beautiful! Let's think of confidence like a garden. It grows when it’s nurtured with patience, encouragement, and love. For individuals in the autism community, confidence may develop in unique ways and at their own pace.
Every small success, whether it’s trying something new, expressing a thought, or completing a task, is like planting a seed. With support, positive reinforcement, and understanding, those seeds grow into self-belief and strength.
✨ Ways to Build Confidence:
• Celebrate small wins and progress
• Encourage strengths and interests
• Provide a safe and supportive environment
• Offer positive words and reassurance
• Allow space for independence and self-expression
Confidence isn’t about being perfect. It’s about believing in your ability to grow, learn, and shine in your own way.

🩵 Some Emotions Come in Waves | Autism Acceptance Month 💙
Understanding Emotional Regulation:
Emotions can sometimes feel like waves, calm one moment, and overwhelming the next. For many individuals with autism, those waves can feel bigger, faster, and harder to manage.
Emotional regulation is like learning how to ride those waves instead of being pulled under by them. It’s about finding ways to pause, reset, and return to a place of calm. This isn't just something for the special needs community, but for everyone. We all need learn and understand emotional regulation for ourselves.
✨ Helpful Strategies:
• Deep breathing or quiet time to slow things down
• Using favorite activities or comfort items to reset
• Creating a calm space to step away when needed
• Following routines to bring a sense of stability
• Expressing feelings through words, art, or movement
These strategies aren’t about stopping emotions. They’re about understanding them and moving through them with support and care.

🩵 Some Feelings Run Deeper | Autism Acceptance Month 💙
Understanding Anxiety in Autism:
Anxiety can be the worst. I know how it effects me as an adult so I can imagine how it affects my youngin. It feel like a storm building inside. Sometimes quietly, sometimes all at once. For many individuals with autism, the world can feel more intense. Sounds may be louder, changes may feel overwhelming, and uncertainty can create a sense of unease.
Imagine trying to navigate a day where everything feels just a little bit “too much”. That’s what anxiety can feel like. It’s not just worry. It’s the body and mind working overtime to process everything around them.
✨ Ways to Support and Soothe Anxiety:
• Creating calm and predictable environments
• Using routines to provide a sense of safety
• Offering reassurance and patience
• Allowing time and space to reset
• Encouraging calming tools like deep breathing or quiet breaks
With understanding and support, those overwhelming moments can become more manageable.

🩵 This Parenting Journey Looks Different | Autism Acceptance Month 💙
A Real-Life Journey of Love & Growth:
Parenting a child on the autism spectrum is like learning a new language. I'm learning spanish and it's not an easy task. It's very challenging but rewarding. One built on patience, observation, and unconditional love. It’s celebrating milestones that may look different, finding joy in small victories, and learning to see the world through a beautifully unique lens.
There are moments of challenge. Times when communication feels hard or when the world feels overwhelming. But within those moments are also deep connections, resilience, and growth. You learn to slow down, to listen more closely, and to appreciate progress in its purest form.
It’s not about a “perfect” journey, it’s about a real one. A journey filled with strength, adaptability, and a love that continues to grow deeper every single day.

🩵 Every Reaction Has a Reason | Autism Acceptance Month 💙
Meltdowns vs. Tantrums: What’s the Difference?
This is another important topic that lacks a lot of understanding. There are times that my youngin have tantrums and other times she has meltdowns. It's important to know the difference between the two because it will guide how to help and respond.
Think of a tantrum like a storm with a purpose, they know what's wrong and why they are doing what they are doing. It often happens when someone wants something (like attention, a toy, or a specific outcome). Once the goal is met or changes, the storm usually passes.
A meltdown, on the other hand, is like an overwhelming wave that crashes all at once. It’s not about wanting something. It’s about feeling too much at one time. Too much noise, too many emotions, too much stimulation. It’s the body’s way of saying, “I need help. I’m overwhelmed.” It's a cry out for help!
✨ Why Understanding Matters:
Meltdowns aren’t something to discipline. They’re something to support with patience, calmness, and care. Creating a safe space, lowering stimulation, and offering comfort can make a world of difference.
