My apologies. At an increasing rate YT has been deleting replies I post to comments that are made by viewers. It seems this is not only a problem on this channel, but everywhere on YT. I will try to keep replying to all your comments, but most times my reaction gets deleted.
Today I had to ban the first troll on this channel. Quite an achievement if you ask me. Beforehand I always have had the rule that I don't want to delete any comments or ban any persons except for when they keep insulting or posting really hateful stuff. Because of recent comments however I am beginning to reconsider my position. As the amount of viewers grow I am unable to keep track of everything. Maybe I should ask someone to moderate for me :)
Anyway, let me make a few clear statements: - I am NOT a neo-fascist (place YT-banned word here) and the ideology I am referring to I view as criminal. - I am NOT a wheraboo. - The holocaust did happen and it was a crime.
Things I will be banning in the future (after 1 warning you are out): - Zionism conspiracy bullshit. - Holocaust denial. - Adoration for AH and his followers or organisation.
Also: this is a history educational channel. I don't claim to know the truth about everything. You are encouraged to proove me wrong with sources. You can also always ask me for sources.
You are not forced to watch my shorts/video's. You are always free to leave. If you don't like it: do so.
Recently in real life I have bought a new house. So a lot of things need to be arranged for that. I will try to keep posting regularly but I am not sure how I will manage the coming days. For the 14th of June I have a video planned about the fall of Paris which happend on that day in 1940. In the days after, shorts will be published about this longer video.
As you can see we started using the new channel name. Even though 'Wehrmacht Archives' had most votes I decided to go with this name, because the Archives name was to similar to another channel with lots of Wehrmacht content. The channel will keep this name and we hope not to do any future namechanges anymore.
Before the changing of the channel we did an experiment called 'Photo Analysis'. The idea was that we would take a Wehrmacht picture and discuss and/or explain any peculiarities. We did not have a big audience back then. As we grow bigger I am thinking about restarting these video's in a more professional form.
- Would you be interested in these? - Are there certain topics you want us to talk about? - Do you have feedback regarding our previous experiment? (If we will restart this there will be some changes anyway).
The experiment episode is included here. I would really appreciate any feedback.
As we are approaching the 1000 subscribers I want to ask our followers to what name we should rename the channel. I have a few options, but I am also open for other suggestions.
As you know on this channel I will mainly cover WW2 Wehrmacht.
The Dutch re-enactor podcast has been on break for several months. At our last episode, we indicated that we did not want to close the channel and that we would think about the future of the podcast.
As you have seen, since mid-March the channel has been used for other purposes: publishing short educational shorts about the Wehrmacht, with as much original footage as possible. We are investigating whether this new concept, with possible expansion in the future, has an audience. For now, it seems that it does. Within two weeks, we've already gained as many followers as we have in the past two years with the podcast.
Of course, we knew when we started the podcast that we would not attract an audience of millions. The target group: Dutch (speaking) WW2 re-enactors is simply not very big. We did the podcast mainly for fun. But now it is time to move on and it would be nice to appeal to a somewhat larger audience.
This means that if the new concept catches on, we will also remove the old podcast episodes. We have now set the goal that the transition to the new concept will definitely take place when we reach 1000 followers on youtube. We therefore want to prepare our followers for this. Spotify and apple podcast will remain, but you may still want to download footage from youtube.
For now, we would like to thank our small, but loyal group of followers, for all the support we have always been privileged to receive.
In particular, we would like to thank all the guests who have ever appeared in one of the 42 podcast episodes:
Sanne Christoph (Die Volksgrenadiere) Sjoerd K. (Die Volksgrenadiere) Patrik (Verlag Kopf) Lucas (Frontovik) Nick (War Department) Brandon (Die Volksgrenadiere) Sjoerd v/d W. (Prinses Irene Brigade) Laurens (Krasny Oktjabr) Dennis (Pontoon Group '40-'45) Menno (Cranenburgh events) Jessie Robert (Die Volksgernadiere) Wesley (48th Highlanders)
