Throwback to when I passed my CCRN in February 2018! I was in my first trimester and I remember feeling sooo nauseas during my exam. Luckily, I passed and was super stoked! Having my CCRN gives me a sense of pride an accomplishment. Letters behind your name don’t define the nurse you are....but hey, they are pretty cool, huh?!
Before I took my CCRN I used @nicolekupchik5959 ‘s CCRN books! I loved taking the quiz questions and then using her rationale book to brush up on the content I struggled with. But good news!!!! @nicolekupchik5959 has developed an online review course for her CCRN/PCCN content! I so wish I had this when I was preparing for my CCRN because I am an audio/visual learner!!! But luckily....it’s available to all of you and is majorly discounted through September 8th!! If you’re going to be taking your CCRN/PCCN soon and aren’t sure how to prepare....GET 👏 THIS 👏 COURSE 👏 .

NEW GRAD NURSES LISTEN UP 👂 . . I was a 4.0 nursing student. I worked my ass off. I got the grades. I volunteered. I took on every challenge and opportunity. I passed my NCLEX in 75 questions. . . ....but then I got to my first nursing job and I was like....holy 💩 💩 💩 . I don’t know anything. I had all of this “book” knowledge, but I had no idea how to handle situations like...family members yelling at you, patients seeking drugs, doctors hanging up on you mid-conversation, nurses bullying new grads, etc. . . I was so successful in nursing school...why was I struggling so much as a new nurse?? . . This feeling is so common amongst new nurses. Although we LOVE nursing, there are a lot of difficult parts of being a nurse that are not taught in nursing school. This is why I love The New Nurse Master Class. It teaches you all of the ins and outs of the nursing field to set you up for success. I want all new grads to avoid feeling completely overwhelmed and terrified of this career you literally spent four years preparing for. Please, do yourself a favor and sign up for the class! . . It’s only on sale for $100 off through today and then the price will jump back up. There will never be a sale THIS big again. Link to class (with discount): bit.ly/30vtGbO#affiliate
I remember the first time a doctor yelled at me in front of a patient. I was terrified. Embarrassed. And did I say anything back? Nope. I was too scared. I didn’t stand up for myself. I didn’t report it. I just sunk back and secretly wanted to cry. I had taken care of this patient 5 days in a row and had formed a good relationship with him and his wife. After the doctor left the room, the patient’s wife said, “I am sorry he treated you like that.” And what did I say??? “He must be having a bad day.” . . Having a bad day DOES NOT excuse someone’s abusive behaviors. Afterwards, I thought of a million things I wish I would’ve said to the doctor. But why didn’t I have the balls to stand up for myself?!? Probably because I was caught off guard and didn’t have the knowledge or resources to professionally handle these situations. . . @freshrn just launched her New Nurse Master Class today....and it is the perfect resource for handling these types of situations and so much more. It’s geared to help new nurses MASTER all of those gray areas that no one teaches you about in nursing school. Like....how do I handle rude providers? Or, how do I balance working a night shift? And, how do I not take home the stress of the events I see at work? There’s so much valuable content for new nurses that I wish I had when I was starting out. . . The New Nurse Master Class is on sale for $100 off now through Friday (8/2). Click the link to check it out: bit.ly/30vtGbO #affiliate
