Halo: The Wolf Brigade
I’ve always loved Jin-Roh, so I made this render when the Kerberos helmet was released in Halo Infinite. If you didn’t know, the helmet was actually a direct reference to the film. The original manga it was based of was called Kerberos: Panzer Cop by Mamoru Oshii, who additionally was the creative director for the Halo Legends short “The Duel.”

In late 2536, The RKD Group, (an Earth-based think tank) presented the UNSC Ordnance Committee with the Project HAYABUSA; a self-contained power armor that was developed as a rival to Project MJOLNIR.

Despite projects HAYABUSA and MJOLNIR being very similar, the main takeaway being that it used advanced materials that made this it weigh one third of the weight of MJOLNIR.

The armor is named after Ryu Hayabusa, the protagonist of the Ninja Gaiden series and a combatant in the Dead or Alive series. The helmet resembles the "ninja of the future" costume in Ninja Gaiden on Xbox. Bungie likely created the Hayabusa armor as a tribute to Team Ninja for adding Spartan Nicole-458 into Dead or Alive 4. Team Ninja, the developers of the Ninja Gaiden series and Dead or Alive series, are mentioned in the credits for Halo 3.
