I haven't really made an announcement until now, but yesterday a close uncle and extended family member passed away after a long and difficult fight with cancer. I have been helping family with the situation and will continue to do so in the coming days.

I am fine, and everyone is relieved pain has finally transformed into peace, and the passing was gentle, but understandably I have not had the time nor motivation to remain as productive as per usual.

I understand family always comes first, and I am taking care of both them and myself, but I also felt an explanation for the shorter, more sparse, and/or delayed content was necessary.

Thank you for the well wishes.

Today I heave an extraordinarily heavy heart, and it comes with great sadness that I have the misfortune of having to announce the very deep and personal loss of a valued family member, my best friend, and my late father's close companion, Daenerys.

Dani came into our lives for the duration of the single most impossibly difficult and painful time period in my entire life.. She was a marker that came to us the year my dad started chemo, and she was there for us to help us through a level of loss and life change that I surely thought would kill me.

She was with me through a thousand mile journey, a devastating blizzard, a tornado, the loss of almost everything I held dear and sacred, even when I lost myself to grief and isolation from all my friends during the pandemic...

She was there through ALL of it.

She was even there beside me and my mother, watching patiently as the ambulance drove my father away after he passed. She was an anchor to this family, and she was one of the happiest and most caring animals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She loved the rain, as did I, and always watched it with me on my back porch while we listened to music.

My mother nursed her back from the brink of death. When she came to us, she was malnourished, she had a twitch in her leg, her fur was patchy all over, and she had been starving so badly her stomach had distended. She cried when we gave her food, saving her, and she never left.

There is a hole in my heart today that will remain for some time, and I will always have the scars. I miss her already, but I'm glad she had the happiest and most fulfilling life a cat could have.

Rest in Peace,
Daenerys (Dani) Land

Today marks a milestone that I have been aiming to achieve for, without exaggeration, the best part of 20 years.

An absolutely surreal feeling.

Unfortunately, I don't have a special video ready at this moment, but I'm working on a major one that will be done in a month's time.

Thank you for all the support over these years, and for all the long waits, the changes in content, and the ongoing anticipation for things yet still to come!

Two Weeks In Hell.

2 weeks ago I made a community post warning people of a slightly slowed video production schedule due to some surgery undergone by my Grandmother. That surgery was performed successfully, but I'm afraid it was the only beginning chapter to a long, stressful, and arduous 14 days that followed it that involved 3 more surgeries and 2 emergency ambulance visits.

The first operation, the one we had all planned for and the one I was mainly referring to when I made my original post 2 weeks ago, was a non-invasive aortic-valve replacement. Because my grandmother is 86 they did not want to perform open-heart surgery, but fortunately they were able to perform the procedure in a different way that did not resort to scalpels and scars, and the operation was performed successfully. They kept her in the hospital for one night, then released her the next day to our house due to lack of rooms available in the hospital.

When she got home at noon the next day, she has only been home for less than an hour, in the middle of eating lunch, when her back and face went numb and her blood pressure dropped to 38. An ambulance was called, and she was brought back to the hospital to have an emergency operation to install a pacemaker to assist the aortic-valve in its operations.

The operation was, again, performed successfully, and she recovered relatively fast, especially for her age. She was in the hospital again, overnight, and again they sent her home the next day because of a lack of available rooms.

She returned home again, and this time she was able to stay a day and night in her own home before yet another incident occurred the next day. Suddenly, she claimed to be in unbearable pain, strong as such that she was not even able to lift herself from her chair. Upon examining her stomach, my mother discovered it looked black and bruised, and an emergency ambulance was once again called.

After lengthy discussion and examination among the doctors at the hospital, they discovered due to the roughness of the prior surgeries, my grandmother had two large hematomas caused by some internal bleeding. The hematomas were too large to be resolved with a need, so she was once again put under the knife and the operating table in order to fix the issue.

This time, she was finally given a room at the hospital itself and spent 48 to 72 hours in recovery. I'm happy to report that she is finally home, and before they released her yesterday she was able to walk 50ft by herself, a testament to her strength. But, she is still in tons of nerve and muscle pain from all 4 operations she's had to endure in a relatively short period of time, at her age no less.

During this time, I also had a cousin begin the removal of one of two tumours he didn't know he had until a month ago, and my other cousin, whose family runs a summer fireworks business, got himself half blown up during a freak accident that nearly caused the loss of his hands and the burning of their house.

My health is relatively fine, fortunately, although I'm currently in the midst of what I hope is a 24-hour stomach virus that is causing some rather uncomfortable pains and cramps, which is why I'm writing this community post on my phone from bed rather than at the computer desk like usual.

Quite a lot of information to dump on the lot of you, I know, but needless to say this is only some of what's been going on behind the scenes lately, and is the primary reason uploads to the channel have not been has frequent or as long as normal, and may still not be for a short period of time as I help my grandmother in her recovery from such an incredible ordeal.

Despite all the bad luck, we are very fortunate and very lucky that all of the millions of things that could have gone wrong did not, and everyone is still here at the end of it and that's the real important thing.

I cannot thank you enough for your continued support through all of this. I am well aware I am not the best creator in the world about keeping my fans and viewers informed about the often complicated goings on of my personal life behind the computer screen, but know that your ongoing viewership, comments, likes, and shares serve to both financially and emotionally support me and my family.

Video production will continue, though perhaps slower than usual for a little while, we shall see in the coming days and weeks.

The best way you can support me and my channel is just by continuing to watch and share my videos over and over, but for those of you looking for a more direct way of supporting me, I still have my ko-fi page available, made a few years ago during the height of the pandemic:

Thanks again for your continued viewership!

Goodnight and Godspeed,

Slow video production this week due to family medical procedures.

Grandmother has undergone a non-invasive heart surgery, and is doing well, but time away from home has lead to a small gap in regularly scheduled content.

All is well! Stay tuned for more!
