Jun 27th 2024 Weekly Update

What's up! I got sick last week... so a bunch of stuff got delayed.

No problem tho, since I already have a bunch of content ready to post, so a template will be uploaded to the Patreon later today, and I have a YouTube Short dropping as well!



Now to the negatives...



My 1 hour and 25 minutes video on Future Funk got blocked by a bunch of people, it is so bad that it will take me a long time to fix it... but for now the main solution will be EXCLUSIVE PATREON CONTENT.



Videos that have bigger copyright issues will be uploaded exclusively to the Patreon.

I will have to remove 30min+ from the Future Funk video to reupload it, so the full video will only be available at the Patreon.

I will start posting some content on the Patreon for free members too! Stuff like some midi, and older content.


And finally in August I will start doing sample breakdowns from people in the Patreon !!

I'm back Jun 12th !!!
"What Happen and the Future (Patreon Update JUN 5th 24)"


Long time no see! A lot of people are worried about me because it has been over one month since I released a YouTube video and updated the Patreon. I got 4 things to talk about!



FIRST... I am ok... I think a lot of the concern comes from the fact that the documentary "flopped". The statistics are solid, so it is possible that it will gain more views in the future, I think it was just too long compared to the rest of my work.

I jokingly said I worked too hard for it to flop, and if it did I would retire lol.

Regardless, I am truly NOT concerned about the performance of the video, if it had done well, it would not have been life changing, as it does not push me closer to become the music producer I want to become... My issue is that I keep getting side tracked.



Leading to my SECOND point.

As many of you know I am also a basketball player recovering from 2 nasty surgeries. I finally found some treatment that is giving me hopes of coming back to play, but also the fact I kept training over these 4 years of injury attracted some young hoopers who are now paying me to train them... After 13 years of basketball I can finally say I make money because of it lol. The only issue is that it has been a pain to fit that into my schedule, I am almost figuring it out tho. Once I do, I am hopeful that I will find a way to be consistent and properly balance the many things I do in life.


THIRD thing.

Sample breakdowns are not cutting it. The money is non existent, and the growth does not justify the work anymore. I spent a month just posting them and my growth stayed the same, then I spent a month not posting anything at all and my growth rate stayed the same AGAIN! So I will keep doing them because... I love it, but I will pivot into other forms of content for my "regular" content.



And finally the FOURTH thing is the Patreon.

If I do this correctly, there is a way for it become my main source of income. I found other people that do something similar to me and found huge success... I have the blueprint, can I follow it tho?

The goal is for me to have some income that I can then invest into my music career. NONETHELESS, I am already privileged, so I believe I have all the tools I need. It would just be nice to not stress about money while I work.



I am preparing to return and already have a lot of content ready to post, but I was holding off on posting it until I feel like I can be consistent with it! Didn't do as much as I would have linked, but whatever, I'm back on Jun 12th!

2 THINGS!



1 - I did an experiment, posting my regular content every 5/7 days doesn't do much for my channel, and not posting for 1 month plus also did not hurt my channel metrics at all... so I will definitely slow down the regular content, and focus on other type of contents + some more ambitious content.



2 - If I were to drop a well over 1 HOUR Future Funk analysis compilation... would it be better to drop it as a collection of analysis or change it to be a playlist with my sample breakdowns as visuals? I think the latter has a lot more replay value, since people can listen to it as a Future Funk tape instead of having an analysis in between every song stopping the listening experience... What y'all think?
