"No Means No"
What makes me feel powerful? It’s seeing the smiles of parents, of daughters and sons, of adopted hearts finding love. In their joy, I find strength — because their happiness gives me power, reminds me that we are meant to love and be loved.
But sometimes, I feel small. When a man’s eyes turn me into something else, a piece of meat, something to be judged, objectified. It’s painful. It’s like a weight on my chest, like my worth is determined by how they see me.
But I am proud. I am proud of being a girl, of being a woman. Because without us, there is no life. Without us, there are no men. We bring life into the world, and that power is unmatched. Men should be proud of us — respect us, honor us, cherish our existence as much as they cherish their own.
I wish the world understood: Periods are natural. Feelings are valid. Love, pain, hope — they live in us, and we wear them proudly. Yet this generation doesn’t seem to care. The world doesn’t see it. But we still carry on, because we are strong. Even when the world tries to silence us.
What amazes me about women? Their confidence. Their grace. How they handle anger, love, pain. They are warriors in a world that tries to break them. And I am in awe. Because women can carry the hardest burdens, and still rise.
I get angry when men don’t listen. When “no” doesn’t mean “no.” When their eyes say one thing, and their words say another. When the word “respect” is forgotten. When they push past boundaries, when they forget that “no” is not an invitation to try harder. Even after years, even after forever, “No” is still no.
Hope comes from within. If I don’t stand up for myself, how can I expect the world to? If I don’t love myself, how can I expect anyone else to? I create my own strength, my own power. And that’s enough.
My message to the world? "No means no." It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, how long we’ve been together. “No” is not a game. "No" is not a suggestion. "No" is a boundary. A limit. Respect it. Understand it. Because without women, there is no man. Without us, this world wouldn’t exist. We are the beginning. We are the end. And we will not be silenced.
