Per December 2023 MTA Board Materials, New Flyer has been awarded the big Electric Bus Contract. Here are the following bits of information:

- Base Order (187 New Flyer XE40 CHARGE NG's/18 New Flyer XE60 CHARGE NG's)
- Two Option Orders totaling up to 1,215 buses
- Option Order I (193 XE40's and 72 XE60's) = 265 buses
- Option Order II (Up to 950 buses)
- Option Order II may be included in the 2025-2029 Capital Plan
- Provision to exercise 750 XE40 CHARGE NG's/200 XE60 CHARGE NG's
- Pilots to be delivered for both XE40's and XE60's in January 2025
- Production XE40's to be delivered between September 2025 to July 2027
- Production XE60's to be delivered between September and October 2025
- Every borough will get a piece of this order (OA/TA Depots)

Major news on what was awarded this month. The MTA has awarded New Flyer the entire 245 Diesel Articulated Order. Here is the breakdown:

Base Order with two Options

- Base Order (224 buses)
- Option Order I (21 buses)
- Option Order II (425 buses)
- Four Pilot units to be delivered in January 2025
- Production units to arrive from August 2025 to November 2027
- To be assigned to Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx
- Intended to wipe out all of the 2011-2013 Nova LFSA's and 2012-2013 New Flyer XD60's (with Options Exercised)

A day for the history books. The 291st and final Nova LFS-HEV was deployed into revenue service on the M5 Limited. After two years since the first batch of units entered service. With that said, all of the Hybrid's from this current order are all in service. We are not out of the woods just yet for Hybrid's as the MTA plans on awarding an order of 210 Hybrid's to help facilitate the retirements of the last fleet of Blue/White 40-footers.

CPTDB (Canadian Public Transit Discussion Board) updated their list of VIN's for the MTA Bus Nova LFS order. Now, it is 22 out of 308 units confirmed to have been built. Like the last report, the bus numbers are unknown.

To make things even more exciting 10 New Flyer XE40 CHARGE NG's have been built. Since the provided VIN's appear to be in numerical sequence, it tells me that 4965 (already confirmed to be built) to 4974 have been built.
