Hey all! So, I reuploaded Part 3 of my Photographing Japan series that originally posted this morning. Discovered an audio issue where it was only playing out of the left channel! 🫣😬
My apologies for the annoyance, but man does it sound sooo much better now!

Happy New Year! I'm super excited to be putting the finishing touches on my first photography video from my trip to Japan. It's definitely different from my typical videos, but I felt this trip deserved something different. The video will be released at 8:30am ET this Sunday, January 4th and will be part 1 of the series to kick off the New Year!!
So enjoy a little behind the scenes look and we will see you Sunday! 🇯🇵

Hi all! I know I have been a little radio silent these past couple of months, but it's been a very busy fall from going to Japan on vacation with family to photographing a golf tournament to getting to listen to a talk from the CEO of the National Geographic Society to recertify as a Northwest Piedmont Master Naturalist.
I promise I am working on editing the photos from my Japan trip, which will include a YouTube vlog from the trip! My goal is to have that ready around Christmas...so stay tuned!

A little sneak peek of what I am currently editing for an upcoming video! I don't do a lot of night scapes and Milky Way photography, but with the very recent acquisition of a Move Shoot Move Nomad tracker, I will be doing a bit more of that in the coming years! 📸🌌
I am definitely the type of photographer who likes to stretch her wings in a variety of ways and try new things.

While I am busy trying to finish editing photos from a birding trip to South Carolina and subsequently a video, I wanted to share a sneak peek of the trip.

Also, I wanted to share the link to my radio segment on Co-existing with Wildlife that aired on a local public radio station just over a week ago.

I know I have been somewhat absent on YouTube, but it's been a crazy busy spring for me with lots of cool things happening in my world! Today, was one of those cool things! I did a radio interview with WSNC, 90.5, as part of their Empowering You segment on Sundays. I discussed co-existing with wildlife. The host, Alvin Atkinson, was amazing and hopefully, listeners will be able to gleam some helpful tips!
It will air this Sunday, May 25 at noon, if you are in the Winston-Salem area.

A little history, a little nature, and a whole lot of beauty at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi! The palace is the seat of the Asantehene, the Monarch of the Ashanti Kingdom, as well as his official residence.
The courtyard was a highlight—from the World Peace Bell to the royal strut of the resident peacocks (truly living their best lives). And then there’s the stunning Abare—a towering Indian Rubber Tree (Ficus elastica) that beautifully symbolizes Kumasi’s blend of history, nature, and tradition. (Abare is the local name in Asante Twi.)

In March, I had the opportunity to travel to Ghana for work—an unforgettable experience from start to finish. On our first day, we visited Cape Coast Castle, a site that left a lasting impact on me.
While this trip wasn't a personal photography trip nor one I recorded a video for my channel, I still wanted to share a few of the photos I took, and you can see more on my Instagram page.
Cape Coast Castle was once a major hub in the transatlantic slave trade and is a place of deep sorrow and resilience.
It's hard not to be emotionally impacted when you walk through the slave dungeons and the “Door of No Return.”
If you click on the individual photos, they will expand.
