🌟 The Surf (Detergent) Field Mastitis Test (SFMT)
🔍 Quick and cost-effective method to detect subclinical mastitis in dairy animals.

🧪 How to Prepare the Solution:
1️⃣ Measure 3 grams of detergent powder.
2️⃣ Dissolve it in 100 mL of clean, warm water.
3️⃣ Stir the solution until the detergent is fully dissolved.

⚙️ Procedure:
1️⃣ Collect a small amount (2-3 mL) of milk from each quarter of the udder into a clean container.
2️⃣ Add an equal amount (2-3 mL) of the prepared detergent solution to the milk sample.
3️⃣ Mix gently by swirling the container.

👀 Observation:
✔️ Positive Reaction (Mastitis Detected): Gel-like clumps or thickening appear.
❌ Negative Reaction (No Mastitis): Mixture remains fluid with no gel formation.

📝 Interpretation:
✅ _ A positive reaction indicates the presence of subclinical mastitis, caused by the reaction between detergent and somatic cells/proteins in infected milk.#mastitis #veterinary
