I’M ON THE FENCE! I tried out YouTube’s new #DreamScreenAI tool to create a short video and I’m not sure what I think about it.
What do you think?
Here’s the video youtube.com/shorts/jFleCM15Za...

IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW. Stop reading now and drop a comment if you know what this is referring to.
🍑
One of my all time favorite strategies for coping techniques for labor I have named “Limp and Loose in Labor”. This is a series of 8 things to do during labor which will promote relaxation and in turn allow the body to be more effective. We want to work with our contractions and not fight them!
🍑
I have put together this fun cheat sheet for families to refer to during labor with the 8 Limp and Loose in Labor techniques. One of my all time favorites of the 8 techniques is NO BUM CLENCHING. During my last childbirth class series, one of the participants suggested another name for this technique which I love…LOOSE GLUTES!
🍑
Releasing your glutes/bum/butt during contractions should help the contractions work more efficiently and in turn open that cervix!
🍑
The Limp and Loose in Labor cheat sheet is included in both the Birth Tool Box on demand childbirth class (birthtoolbox.com/) AND the SupportingHer course for partners. It’s one of many cheat sheets included in the courses and it’s my favorite!

If you asked me what phrases a partner should avoid saying in labor, the phrase "Are you tired?" would be on the top of my list.
It seems like something that a caring person would ask, but stop and consider this question for a minute. When you are in labor your answer to this question will always be YES! And asking a question like this usually will call attention to the fact that you are tired.
As a doula, I recommend NOT ASKING THIS QUESTION. Instead, just assume that the answer is YES and move forward with support accordingly.
Knowing what to say and what to avoid in labor can be tricky! It is one of the key skills that we teach in the SupportingHer course for partners. (birthtoolbox.com/online-dads-class/) and it's the topic of a helpful video that I released with more examples here https://youtu.be/b1k3qh0jz-o.

Before labor begins, make sure you have directions to your hospital or birth center. Also, there might be a different entrance after hours so find that out now.

Everything looks a little different at 2am when you or your partner are in labor and a little extra preparation goes a long way!
