I HAVE A DREAM” still lives in my spirit.

At just 9 years old, I stood in Northland Mall in Columbus, Ohio, and delivered that speech—fully memorized, not fully understanding then how prophetic those words would become in my own life.

My Godfather’s legacy lives on in history. His images from the March on Washington are preserved in the Library of Congress and in museums, lovingly managed by my God-sister, Theresa Lynn Carter. History didn’t just live in books for me—it lived in my bloodline, my upbringing, my faith.

Today, I was reminded of Dr. King.
And I was reminded that in times like these, we need our Olivia Popes.

Women born to stand firm in adversity.
Women who choose love when it’s hard.
Women who remain committed to people, truth, and community… even when the cost is high.
This season is not easy. Loving people and staying strong can feel impossible.
But hear me clearly: love always wins.

Stay connected to lovers of people.
Stay rooted in community.
Stay bold in purpose.
