Vanuatu, through the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission, has become a new member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

IOSCO is a global standard-setting body that regulates securities markets to ensure financial activities in member countries are fair, transparent, and stable.
The Commissioner of VFSC said this marks an important milestone for Vanuatu after three years of efforts to join the international body. He added that becoming a member of IOSCO means Vanuatu now receives significant recognition globally in the financial services sector.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Prima Limited have signed a financing agreement for the VT6 billion Tamtam Submarine Cable Project — ADB’s first private sector investment in Vanuatu.
