i have a lot to say about youtube using ai to detect if users are children.

1. this is kinda just. ableist. me and many other neurodivergent individuals have latched onto content when we were young and it is still important to us as we grow old. youtube is basically saying “we will only find the REAL ADULTS who watch REAL ADULT CONTENT, not these other adults who are actually just kids!” infantilization of neurodivergent people, especially autistic individuals, no matter how subtle, is harmful.

2. so let’s say youtube finds an account where the user is actually a 5 year old. they would have found this account by seeing the watch history of the account, which would be kids shows/videos since that is what the ai is looking for. they delete the account. youtube just punished and deleted an account which is, for now, MOSTLY HARMLESS! that kid was watching what they should be watching at that age! this isn’t protecting kids, this is ignoring the children who are actually watching harmful things!!

3. nobody should have to turn in their personal ID to watch videos on a non adult only site. we are lumping high schoolers in with elementary schoolers. what is up with that? youtube already has youtube kids, so why do we have to continue forcing this stuff on everyone when it should only be on the parents of the kids?

anyways i hope my channel doesnt get deleted because i like watching cartoons 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

i really hate apologizing over and over for not posting on time, but i am upset that i can’t get myself to do it on time when i have a whole week. man.
creative block has been hitting me extremely hard. can’t seem to work on the video essay or any videos. thanks artfight… /sar
maybe i’ll post a bit more every now and then, but i think i’ll have to change the schedule-ish to every two weeks instead of one. just to be easier on me, especially since school is starting up again soon.
