Ahead of the release of AGBARA NLA: THE RETURN in October as announced by Mount Zion as the release of the Thriller, Evang. Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, the son of Evang. Mike Bamiloye has delivered a sharp response to critics accvsing Mount Zion of demonizing Yoruba culture.

Reacting to the claims on X formerly TWITTER, Jaymikee argued that critics are att^cking a narrative they clearly haven't taken time to understand. According to him, Mount Zion has spent decades celebrating Yoruba Language, Proverbs, Royalty, and traditions while preaching the Gospel.

He further said that the Mount Zion Faith Ministry has never framed its message as Christianity vs Yoruba culture, but rather Light vs Darkness. "DARKNESS HAS NO NATIONALITY," Joshua stated, adding that becoming a Christian does not mean abandoning one's cultural identity.

His response has drawn applause from supporters who say critics continue to judge Mount Zion based on a handful of traditional-themed films while ignoring its vast catalogue of stories on family, relationships, discipleship, and societal issues.

The timing is significant. Agbara Nla: The Return, a remake of the iconic 1993 classic, is set for nationwide cinema release on October 1, 2026.

For many observers, Jaymikee's message was simple: watch the movie first, then form an opinion. Until then, the noise from critics may be generating more publicity for Agbara Nla than opposition.
