Howdy, hunters! As mentioned in my last post, I'm working on a "No Smithy" playthrough of Wilds. This means I can ONLY use the weapons and armor that you start the game with—no upgrading or forging anything. I can't even use mantles since those are given to you by Gemma.
I reached high rank the other day and have been hard at work editing the 7 hours of footage that comprise low rank, while also continuing with the run in high rank. High rank will take quite a bit longer than that because of the increased difficulty and the need to grind HR levels. I knew this would take a while, but I underestimated just how long.
Since this will take a long time, I'm wondering if any of you would be interested in watching this run live? I've never livestreamed before, but it seems like a good way to keep people entertained while I work on what will undoubtedly be a massive video.
Many people were disappointed with the difficulty of Wilds, including myself to a small degree. That got me thinking, though: it's probably possible to beat this game without ever forging or upgrading anything—just using the weapons and armor that you start with.
That's what the next video will be. A challenge run all the way up to high rank Arkveld, without ever using the smithy. I've already recorded a good chunk of it and it's been a lot of fun so far. Depending on the outcome, I may even attempt high rank Zoh Shia using nothing but the starting gear.
It's a bit of a departure from my usual content so far, but I hope you look forward to it! It'll be a big one so it could be a while before it's out. I will be releasing bits of it as shorts as I'm working on the full video, though.
The next video will be about how damage in Wilds is calculated. It's a topic that I find pretty fun, so I hope you'll enjoy it. It will be a bit delayed, though—I was hoping to get it out this weekend but I've had some interruptions this week (including a power outage, currently). It'll most likely be out mid- next week.

The first Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds comes out in just a few hours and will be adding Mizutsune, a high rank Zoh Shia, a Gathering Hub, and a few other things. If I come across anything in the update that seems like it warrants more explanation than the game itself gives, then you can expect a video on it in a week or two.
Speaking of videos, a new one just went up! It's a beginner-focused guide on equipment skills and decorations. I hope you find it helpful.
