@michellefisichella1 came out to train with us and I immediately knew she was built different.

Most girls grew up having tea parties.

Michelle grew up apparently preparing for the next Fast & Furious movie.

Stunt background.
Experienced shooter.
Builds cars.
Drives like she’s being chased by helicopters.
And now jumping into USPSA like it’s just another side quest.

Meanwhile my mom is still nervous when I parallel park.

What I respect most is she came in with zero ego.

Didn’t care about looking cool.
Didn’t pretend to know everything.
Just showed up ready to learn, ask questions, and run drills.

Some people hear the timer beep and suddenly move like NPC civilians in a zombie movie.

Michelle hears the beep and turns into a Transporter movie side character.

This is exactly the kind of people we love having around @tacticalplaygroundhq

Different backgrounds.
Different skill trees.
Everybody bringing their own experience into the sport and leveling up together.

Excited to see where her USPSA journey goes.

At this rate my mom is gonna adopt Michelle and be like:

“See? Michelle build car, drive car, shoot gun, do stunt. What you do?”

“…I make memes and miss alpha.”

People think good shooters are just born with talent.

Then there’s @attdragon of @brasscartelco

Dude came into @tacticalplaygroundhq carrying years of MMA experience and somehow brought all that anime training arc energy directly onto the range.

You can literally see the discipline transfer over in real time.

Meanwhile my own martial arts background consists mostly of getting triangle choked by life and losing fights to folding chairs.

Bro stands there adjusting his glasses like the final boss of a Yakuza side mission while the rest of us are trying not to forget our reloads and footwork.

This is exactly why I love building Tactical Playground HQ.

Everybody brings their own “class build” into shooting.

My ancestors didn’t cross ocean for this.

for me to come here and MISS EASY TARGET.

I miss so many shots…
my grandma probably felt it in spirit world like

At one point I take so long to shoot,
even target get bored.

My stance?
Like I holding grocery bag too heavy.
My grip?
Like I never hold anything in my life except disappointment.

After match I call my mom…

She don’t even say hi.
She just say:
“You eat yet? Also… why you suck?”

I thought getting into guns this past year was gonna be about…

guns, training, maybe looking kinda cool on the internet.

You know… typical main character delusion.

Turns out…
it’s mostly just me realizing how average I am
next to people who are actually built different.

Yesterday, @brasscartelco pulls up, brand new to shooting…
but casually has a background in professional fighting.

Like cool…
I brought snacks and a camera.

You can see it immediately though,
the calm, the discipline, the “I’ve been in real pressure before” energy.

Give him a few reps and I’m already thinking,
“yeah… I’m gonna have to train harder just to keep up with the new guy.”

Love that for me.

Then @michellefisichella1

First time stepping into USPSA.
Background in stunts and professional driving…

so naturally she’s out here moving like it’s a movie scene
and I’m trying not to trip over a fault line.

Somewhere between her first few runs…
you could see the switch flip.

Confidence coming in.
Movement getting sharper.
That little “oh wait… I got this” energy.

Meanwhile I’m in the background like,
“okay cool cool cool… everyone’s improving… I should probably also do that.”

In all seriousness, that’s been my favorite part of all this.

Not the gear.
Not even the shooting.

It’s watching people show up curious… and then hit their training arc!

First Day Training… Then Someone Handed Them a .45

Person #1: @eugenia_gonzales_actress

Shock. Like their brain hit a loading screen.

Person #2: @kim_ham22

Immediate survival mode.
Grip got tighter than their credit score.
Body stiff like they just got possessed.

But here’s what people don’t see…

We didn’t just throw a .45 in their hands and say “good luck.”

They were ready for it.

Airsoft
learning the basics without pressure.

.22
building confidence.

9mm
understanding recoil, control, rhythm.

Step by step…
so when the .45 showed up,
it wasn’t chaos.

It was just the next level.

Yeah, the reactions were funny…

But the confidence after?
That part was real.

That’s the difference.

Now you could walk into a range,
grab the biggest thing you see,
and hope for the best…

Or…

You could train the right way
and actually enjoy the process.
