Dear friends and fans! We have reached a situation where the business part of the band is too much for us to handle, and where our own time capacity has become the bottleneck for further development. We have already hired 3 additional employees and several freelancers to do most of the webshop, video editing, design and website work, but we are still spending 90% of our time doing business as opposed to creating new music & content for you.

Instead of writing new songs and recording them, most of the time we are busy with shipping CDs, answering emails, managing finances and supplies, organizing events, coordinating marketing, scheduling social media, organizing logistics, tweaking the website and funnels, searching for and hiring people, managing them and so on.

This is a very good thing, and we are very happy about it - because it means the band is growing.

However, our mission has never been doing business - it has always been doing more and better music for everyone to enjoy and making the world a better place. But in order to fulfill that mission, we must fully focus on the most important part - the creative process. And to do that, we need someone to take care of everything else.

For this reason, we are hiring for a job which is somewhat difficult to categorize due to its multi-faceted nature. The closest we could think of is an overlap between an EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT and a BAND MANAGER: a bit of both, but then again not entirely one of them. In essence, we would call this person a “Multi-Tool” - someone who can do all sorts of things and be effective at them.

Please bear in mind that this is a very interesting, but also a very difficult full-time job, and by no means easy money.

The way it works right now is that Aor is in charge of the management while Jane is in charge of the Webshop. Since the Webshop Worker is a separate position we are also hiring for, this job is mostly about substituting Aor wherever possible - hence the hybrid between an executive assistant and a manager.

So, what's the job about?
In short, you will have to take care of EVERYTHING that is non-creative in the band - so that we can fully focus on the creative part without distractions. And since we have quite a bit going on, your plate will be generally full - to the brink.

It will be quite a learning curve, but we provide all the expertise and training required - all while paying you the full salary.

Once you have mastered the job and are filled to your capacity, you will perform the same feat as we are doing now: choose the 20% of the work you want to do most, and hire people to do the other 80%. Thus, you will grow into a manager with a team of your own. The faster - the better.

Here is an example day in the life of you:

- That CD is selling out again? Order 1000 more.
- The video editor has FINALLY edited 50 more The Wheel reels? Check them and make sure it doesn’t look like Spinal Tap. Also find a second one to do the job faster.
- The social media manager… ah wait where are they? You have to hire them and train them.
- That fest has not sent in a proper schedule OR the fee? Chase them until they do - preferably yesterday.
- Fans are complaining that the FREE CD page is malfunctioning? You will have to grab the web developer by the gills and figure out what's gone wrong (or fix it yourself if you can).
- Time for a US visa? Well, you will have to sift through 20 attorneys before you find the only good one…
- That video shoot - is it next week? And we still don’t have a drum kit because last time the delivery guy delivered it to the wrong part of London and no one has ever seen it or him since? Oh boy…
- The coffee machine in the warehouse has broken down, bringing webshop fulfillment to an abrupt and nasty halt, costing thousands in chargebacks from angry fans? Well, you know what to do…
- Aor woke up with a new Atlantean Ring of Power merch idea. Now you have to contact all jewelry makers in the world and see if they can live up to his expectations…
- Bob consumed something undetermined and now identifies as a potato. Can you at least talk him out of getting himself mashed please?..

And so the wheel is rolling on and on….

Thus, the general day-to-day activities that you will have to fully take over from us would be as follows:

Take over all communications between us and the outside world: the Team members, business partners (videographers, designers, freelancers, distributors, booking agents, venues, attorneys etc), suppliers (CD, vinyl, merch producers, musical instrument brands etc) and other associates (shipping services, payment processors, banks etc).
Handle incoming and outgoing business emails, messages and other correspondence
Schedule appointments, interviews, appearances and manage the band calendar
Make travel arrangements - calculate routes, hire transport & drivers, book tickets, hotels, prepare visa applications and other required paperwork.
Search for, vet, hire and train Team Members, freelancers, creatives, and other employees/partners
Organize band events such as rehearsals, photo and video sessions, meetings, studio sessions, trips etc.
Oversee the band’s website, webshop and social media (there are people in charge of this but often you will have to step in yourself).
Find and rent out office space, hire staff and manage their operation.
Proactively work with music industry professionals, media and other entities on behalf of the Band.
Search for and communicate with new partners/suppliers etc.
Conduct research and gather information to help us make decisions.
And many other things that were, things that are, and some things that have not yet come to pass…

What this requires from you:

Ambition - a burning desire to achieve the maximum level, and believing that it is possible.
Proactivity & Initiative - you don’t wait to be told, you go out there and you do it. You have your own engine inside you, you don’t need our energy.
Communication & people skills - you should be a good negotiator, capable of dealing and compromising at high levels.
Positive Character - part of the job is to stay positive and never express any negativity towards anyone or anything
Speed - you always choose NOW as opposed to TOMORROW or NEXT WEEK.
Desire to learn new approaches - the music industry is transforming very quickly and the old ways are giving in to new ones.
Discipline & Organization: applied to both yourself and others - you must be organised like a German army colonel on steroids and impregnably infect everyone with ORDER within a 5 mile radius. Because we are chaotic metal musicians…
Attention to detail & top quality standards - never consider, offer, approve or release anything unless its top quality (no matter how much time, effort or money was put into it).
Ability to work under high pressure - this is a permanent state in this industry (strict deadlines, lots of stuff going on simultaneously and a lot of questionable outcomes) - not for everyone.
Patience - you must have, worth it will be
Problem-solving skills - every day something goes wrong, and you are the one who will have to find a solution and implement it.
Abstract thinking and task breakdown - given a task, you must be able to break it down into sub and sub-sub tasks, figure out what's required (people, money, know-how etc), present it to us and, if given the go-ahead - implement it, tasking other people where necessary.
Understanding Feline Welfare - when we are on tour you must make sure Jane’s cat is properly looked after and doesn’t text her “this human is a bit odd and retains nourishment, can I please eat him instead?”.

Employment Conditions:

This is a full-time job which requires 100% of your attention.
Working hours are flexible, but should always total 40 per week.
At first there will be a trial period to see if we are suitable for each other (duration to be determined during your interview but no less than 1 month)
As part of your job you will have to travel from time to time - both across the country and internationally
You will receive a PAYE Salary + a possible percentage of certain income or profits (exact figures will greatly depend on your skill levels and experience - to be determined during your interview - as well as results, and may be altered later by mutual agreement)
Paid annual leave + pension + bonuses
Possible equity share options later on (after 1 year minimum)

UK residents only (your physical presence will be needed here)
Right to Work proof required for non-citizens
Prior experience in the music industry will give you an advantage over candidates without it but is NOT mandatory (we can teach you everything you need)

🎸 NEW GUITARIST ANNOUNCEMENT 🎸
We would like to welcome to the band our Atlantean brother Colin Parks from Ipswich, UK, as our new rhythm guitarist!

Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, we had to part with Jon Hawkins, who was replaced by Colin as a fill-in guitarist for the Return of the Atlanteans Tour. However, during the tour we all became good buddies and it was impossible not to offer him a permanent position in the band :)

Apart from being an amazing guitarist, Colin is also known for his adventures with Dani Filth's Devilment, and spearheading the British Symphonic dark metal band Ghosts Of Atlantis .

Mr Parks is also possibly the tallest member of Imperial Age to date, clocking in at over 2 metres!
