Hi and welcome to my channel!

My videos are about hikes in nature, filmed in in a single take, in the point of view perspective. The concept might seem simple, but finding routes that are attractive and not overrun by other hikers takes a lot of time and planning.

What makes this channel unique is, that all videos are recorded with a constant cadence of 120 steps per minute, having especially treadmill, elliptical trainer, crosstrainer, stepper users and powerwalkers in mind. Thus enabling you to adjust the pace of the videos to your individual training speeds by changing the videospeed in the settings of the Youtube video player.

The goal is to provide relaxing and unintrusive entertainment during training sessions. Listen to your own music or allow your mind to wander, to take advantage of the scientifically proven boost of creativity during moderate workout.

Channelupdate!

It has been a long time since the last video. Besides all the positive feedback (Thanks a lot for that! 😎) sadly this channel didn't make any progress. I tried many small changes, but the analytics showed a somewhat sedated behaviour from the YouTube algorithm. It was like the channel was put into a corner and hidden away from potential new viewers. Without a chance at a growth spurts at some point it didn't make sense to invest so much time and money into more videos.

I have been busy though. Working on a new idea. Yes, recently I started another channel. Trying to put this kind of content into an area with a much bigger potential audience: Power walking workouts without the need of any workout gear. And I would love to invite you over and check it out.

I put a ton of work into learning and creating in Unreal Engine to be able to produce motion capture animations that can easily be followed in front of your TV, laptop, tablet, you name it. The animations are on the beat to motivating and energizing music. You get a precise step counter. And the virtual studio has enormous potential for the future.

What does it mean for THIS channel? Well, hopefully lots of new videos in the near future. The editing for the new channel is quite complex and takes a lot of time. But once that has smoothed out a bit it shouldn't be too much work to upload the videos without animations here as well.

So, i would love to ask all my subscribers that prefer their elliptical or treadmill to check out the new channel as well and give some feedback. Maybe for the time being the animation aren't too distracting. And if the music works well and it's fun for you I'll have a bit more security that buying the music licenses for a second channel is a good investment.

To my knowledge the new concept is unique to YouTube. Let me know what you think. 🌞

I had to take down todays video temporarily, because the 1440p/4k resolution weren't available, albeit the Youtube Studio app stated otherwise. I contacted support. They were very helpful and the video will be rendered again, hopefully to the full resolution this time. It will go live as soon as it is finished. ⏱🙂

New HIIT video dropping tonight! The Valley of the Wild Endert will be your host. There'll be new timings with decreasing lengths, also known as HIDIT. This makes it easier to quickly get your heart rate up in the beginning. It conveniently requires fewer resistance/speed changes. And it can also be used to train your muscular lactate tolerance at reduced intensity.
I put some time into a dedicated software for audio-editing to enhance my skillset. It helped a lot in rearranging the music to include only the best parts and fit the intervals. I am very happy with the results, as working with high-precision waveforms makes it almost unrecognizable.
Happy Workout! 😺

2:30 a.m. here. Time to depart. Getting up early to film a video before the cable cars help the tourists to swarm the trails. First order of the day: 1130m upwards on foot to the starting point. That warning shield is for a different bifurication, so technical passages will only appear at the finish. Stamina might be an issue though. Keeping fingers crossed for few clouds and good legs.

Back from Mosel Valley, completing the first step to build up video material for the darker half of the year. The region is famous for the steep hillside vineyards, and its wine of course. The river Mosel has created a very unique landscape by embedding deeply into the regional shale. You'll be able to explore some of the best trails of the region, very different from the Harz Mountain Range, in the coming months.

Short term I'll be underway to film more content, with no access to editing hardware. So new videos will be limited. But I hope to end up with a nice backlog to be back to weekly videos come october and to finally find the time to arrange new HIIT workouts as well.

Stay tuned! 😼⛰️

After the coldest april in 40 years the month of may is characterized by overcast skies and daily rain. Sunny intermissions do happen now and then, but they are very unpredictable, so filming new long form videos has been almost impossible. I really hope this changes soon, so I can finally share some lively spring impressions again.

Which resolution stream are you usually watching on YouTube? I had to wait 8 days until the 4k stream for the lastest video was made available by YouTube. With the higher bitrate of the 4k stream it is well worth it, even if you are watching on an HD screen. I am thinking about making a technical video on this, since I assume many viewers only utilize the 1080p stream, while they could get a much better video quality by opting for 1440p/4k instead.

First community post!
Hi everybody! A few days ago I got accepted to the YouTube Partnership Program, which was possible, because the channel achieved 1000 subscribers. I am very excited about it and want to thank each and every one of you, who signed up and made this possible. 😃

This means that I am now eligible to have advertisements on my videos. Even if you as a viewer very likely would prefer to not see any ads at all, you probably understand that a lack of revenue puts channels like this in significant constraints. 1000 subscribers will generate only a fraction of my monthly costs, but it is a good start.
Additionally, and I am super happy about that, I now have control over how advertisements are placed. Since YouTube started to put ads on non-monetised channels' videos this year, my biggest fear was to see ad breaks during the HIIT workouts, which would destroy the purpuse of the videos. And most viewers would probably have attributed those ads to me, although I had no control about it, and be very annoyed. Well, now that can't happen anymore and you can be sure your workouts won't be interrupted by mid-roll ad breaks, since I have removed all of them. 😄

As a final note, you might be interested how ads revenue works on YouTube. Even many creators have no clue about it, but it is quite simple. Advertisements that are shorter than 30 seconds will only generate revenue for a channel if they are watched to the end. Advertisements that are longer than 30 seconds generate revenue if at least 30 seconds are watched before skipping. Since there are some really long advertisements on this platform you now know you don't have to suffer through to the end to support a channel. 😉

Happy Easter!
