Salt is a Delhi NCR based digital media platform that covers the people, politics, and stories that actually move this country. We do long form interviews, ground reports, documentaries, and podcasts not because they are trending, but because they are the only honest way to tell a story.
We are not here to break news in thirty seconds. We are here to understand it in three hours. We are not here to take sides. We are here to ask the questions the sides would rather avoid.
Our team is a small, stubborn group of journalists, producers, researchers, and cinematographers who believe real conversations are still the most powerful thing you can put on a screen. Anil Sharda, the face you see asking the uncomfortable questions, is the kind of journalist who does not leave a room until he gets an honest answer.
Subscribe. Watch. Question us. Hold us to it.

Official Statement | Salt By Lutyens
We are pleased to inform that the copyright claim filed by Physics Wallah has been withdrawn and our video is live again on YouTube. Alakh Pandey has also publicly issued an unconditional apology regarding this matter and has acknowledged the need for internal course correction within his team.
We want to be clear, our intent was never personal or confrontational. Our only purpose was to ensure that what went wrong was acknowledged and corrected, and that such an action is never repeated against any independent media platform, journalist, or creator in the future.
It is important to understand that influence and journalism are two distinct domains. Journalism asks questions, investigates, and works in the interest of the public. It cannot be pressured and it cannot be silenced.
We hope that Physics Wallah, going forward, recognises and respects this distinction, and does not attempt to suppress the voice of any platform or creator.
In the spirit of closure, we have also decided to take down our previous video on this matter.
To everyone who stood with us, who asked questions, raised their voice, and extended their support, this resolution was possible because of you. Thank you.

Mani Shankar Aiyar’s life unfolds like a story layered with legacy, intellectual depth, and personal struggle. He was born in Lahore’s Lakshmi Mansions, a residence that, after Partition, became home to the family of the legendary writer Saadat Hasan Manto. It is almost as if history placed him, from the very beginning, amid narratives where ideas, identity, and change constantly intersect.
His father, Vaidyanath Shankar Aiyar, was an established chartered accountant, but his presence was lost in a tragic air accident when Aiyar was just 12 years old. The void of that age, and the resilience of his mother, Bhagyalakshmi, who took up teaching to support the family, laid the foundation of sensitivity and inner strength within him.
His journey from studying Economics at Delhi University to Trinity Hall, Cambridge, was not merely academic, it was an expansion of thought. At Cambridge, he became associated with the Marxist Society, engaged in student politics, and began carving his place in the world of ideas. It was also during this time that he formed a bond with a junior, Rajiv Gandhi, a relationship that would later become central to Indian politics.
This is the story of a man who has lived through personal tragedy, ideological exploration, and the corridors of power, and has left a distinct imprint at every turn.
