Where it all started.

I was born there, and so was Tortured Soul!

NYC has such a huge culinary scene with so many options and food that represents different cultures, I wasn’t sure what we should feature .

Once again luck was on my side, and, it’s good to have friends.

I asked Jordan what he thought might make sense, and he immediately said “Cheryl’s global Soul”

I was ok…what’s that?

Turns out it’s a fantastic neighborhood spot in Prospect Heights (Brooklyn), that is run by
Cheryl Smith, long time friend of Jordan, a musical comrade, and the chef who honestly grilled us the best steak I’ve ever had. Not one of the best, but the best.

How about that?

It was an honor and so nice to do one of these episodes in my home town.

This time in Pärnu, Randy and I got hands-on in the kitchen at Villa Ammende to learn how to make Karask—a traditional Estonian bread made with barley flour that’s been made for generations. It’s simple rustic, and delicious!

Cooking together on tour days has become one of our favorite rituals. These moments let us connect with each place in yet another way—sharing music at night, and discovering flavors and traditions by day.
