"Let Go and Let GOD"
I lay my burdens at His feet,
A weary heart, a soul in need.
I whisper, "Take this weight from me,
“Take this pain. This hurt. This betrayal.
All these emotions that hinders me from YOU.”
Yet find it creeping back silently.
The hurt, the scars, they cling so tight,
I gave them up, but not quite right.
Again I turn, my heart still sore,
And wonder, "Must I let go more?"
For every pain I thought had passed,
Still circles back, it doesn't last.
Yet, in His love, I stand and say,
"I'll trust You more, again today.
Again, I will choose YOU and not it.”
Each moment is a choice to make,
A step of faith I daily take.
"No, I won’t pick that up again,
For YOU are healing all my pain.
It is in YOUR hands, there it will remain.”
To let it go, to set it free,
Isn't done just once, but constantly.
But in HIS hands, all things find peace,
And with each choice, my soul’s release.
So when the weight comes back to stay,
I’ll reject it to my hands it will not go, day by day.
And though I’ve stumbled, I’ll remain—
Trusting HIM to hold my pain.

It starts small—a dimly lit action, barely noticeable, brushed off by passersby. Some glance, but no one says a word. Over time, what was once ignored becomes tolerated. People watch, hands in their pockets, as wrong unfolds before them, silently accepting it.
Soon, the tide shifts. In a courtroom, the wrong is justified, codified into law. The gavel falls, and evil is made legal.
Posters flood the streets, advertisements blare its message: Join in, it’s normal now. People gather in celebration, banners waving high, parades in full swing. The very thing that once brought discomfort is now embraced with joyful abandon.
But amidst the cheering crowd, one figure stands alone. They hold a sign, quietly opposing the chaos around them, refusing to bow to the wave of wickedness. Their voice is small, but their conviction is strong. Angry mobs swarm, their voices rising, drowning out the truth with rage and hatred.
"For evil to flourish, it only requires good men to do nothing." — Simon Wiesenthal
We cannot stand by, for silence is complicity.

Sometimes we all need this reminder: All of life's issues and struggles can be addressed by going to the Bible. Emotional turmoil, bills-financial stress, a broken heart, and chains of bondage or addiction. Open the Bible, it offers peace and guidance.

What We Can Learn from the Pharisees (and How We Can Do Better)
In scripture, the Pharisees often serve as examples of what not to do when it comes to living out our faith. While they were deeply religious and knowledgeable of the Law, their hearts were often far from the true purpose of God’s commands. Through their story, we can learn valuable lessons about what it means to live in love, grace, compassion, charity, and kindness.
1. Avoiding Legalism Over Love The Pharisees prioritized strict adherence to rules over the love and well-being of others. Jesus constantly challenged their obsession with the letter of the Law rather than the spirit behind it. The lesson for us is to avoid a faith that is rigid and legalistic. Instead, we are called to love God and love our neighbor. When we allow love to lead, we better reflect God’s heart to those around us.
2. Showing Grace Over Judgment The Pharisees were quick to judge and condemn others for not living up to their standards. However, Jesus showed us a different way, responding to sinners with grace and mercy. We must be people who extend grace to others, remembering that we are all in need of God’s forgiveness. When we lead with grace rather than judgment, we create space for healing and growth in others.
3. Practicing Compassion Over Pride Pride was one of the defining characteristics of the Pharisees. They were more concerned with appearing righteous than with actually caring for others. Jesus showed us the power of humility and compassion, often spending time with the marginalized and the hurting. To do better, we should actively seek to lift others up, offering compassion instead of comparing ourselves to them.
4. Choosing Charity Over Selfishness Though the Pharisees gave tithes and offerings, their giving lacked true generosity. They did it for show, not out of a genuine heart of charity. We are called to give not only financially but also of our time, energy, and love. When we give freely and selflessly, we reflect the heart of God, who gives abundantly to us.
5. Embracing Kindness Over Hypocrisy Jesus condemned the Pharisees for their hypocrisy—outwardly appearing holy, but inwardly far from God. True kindness is not about putting on a good face; it’s about a genuine desire to serve others and reflect God’s love. Let us commit to being authentic in our kindness, showing others the same love and patience that God shows to us.
In all these things, we are reminded that our faith is not just about following rules or looking good on the outside. It’s about a deep transformation of the heart that leads us to love others as God loves us. Let’s strive to be people of love, grace, compassion, charity, and kindness—living out our faith in a way that reflects the heart of Christ.

September 11, 2001, is a day that will forever be etched in the hearts of Americans and people around the world. It was a day of immense tragedy and sorrow, one that changed the fabric of our nation in ways that we never could have imagined. I remember the shock, the disbelief, and the overwhelming sadness that filled the air. Our sense of security was shattered, and life as we knew it would never be the same.
I often try to tell my kids about what life was like before 9/11. It’s strange to think about now, but airports were once a place of calm. I used to go to the airport just for fun, treating it like a shopping day. The stores there were different and “cool” when I was in high school (not that I did that...shhhhh I did). You didn’t have to deal with security checkpoints, and if you were skipping class, it was one of the last places your parents would ever think to find you! Family members could walk you right to the gate. It was a simpler time, and it’s sad that my children will never know that version of the world.
But even in the midst of this sadness and loss, there is something we have to hold on to: God was not surprised by anything that happened. Yes, it was a devastating and heartbreaking day, but God is still in control. He remains powerful, and He has never changed. In a world that seems to shift and turn at every moment, God is the one constant we can trust.
Tragedy is hard to understand. It’s difficult to see why God allows certain things to happen, especially when so many lives are affected. But we have to remember that God sees things we cannot. At the end of the day, His ultimate concern is for our souls, not just our physical lives. Jesus reminds us in Scripture, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet lose his soul?” (Mark 8:36). Our souls are eternal, and God cares deeply for us in ways we may not fully comprehend.
As we remember the events of 9/11, let’s also hold onto the hope that God is still good. He is still with us, and He will never leave us. Even when the world changes in unimaginable ways, God’s love and grace never fade. He is our refuge and strength, and in Him, we can find peace even in the midst of pain.

Did the Pharisees get it right...didn't they live as God told them to live in the Old Testament. Isn't God a wrathful jerk? Didn't God do the Pharisees wrong? What was their sins...it makes no sense to me. Let's talk about it. Check out the next few videos, taking a shallow dive into this topic. After all the deconstruct-ers have a few things to say about this. Are they right? Should we be taking a different view of this...than what we have been taught?

This week, our hearts are broken by the tragedy at Apalachee High School in Georgia. Events like this remind us just how fragile life is and how much we need to keep our schools, students, and teachers in our daily prayers. In times of senseless violence, it can be incredibly difficult to see God in the midst of such horror, but even in our darkest moments, He is there to comfort us.
Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Let this scripture be a reminder that God is near, even when we cannot make sense of the pain and suffering around us.
Pray with me:
"Lord, we come before You today with heavy hearts, lifting up the families, students, and community of Apalachee High School. In the face of such senseless violence, we ask for Your peace and comfort to surround them. Strengthen those who are grieving and guide them through their sorrow. Help us to trust that You are near, even when it’s hard to see. We pray for Your protection over all schools and for an end to these tragedies. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Truth: Jesus loves you. I know life is hard. I know life is not fair. I know life can be confusing. But I also know Jesus loves you. I don't know who needed to hear that today...but I know we all need a reminder every once in awhile.
