i did want to let you know that i’ve started a patreon as a way to build a smaller, more intentional community for those who want something a little deeper and more behind the scenes. there is a free option to join and you’ll have access to some content there. if you choose to become a paid member, that’s totally optional and just opens the door to additional things.
some of what will be offered there includes: - weekly bible studies with Fr. Timothy Skoch and Austin Habash from Think Catholic - live rosaries - exclusive videos for topics you request - articles and reflections - behind the scenes q&a with podcast guests i’ll be having on throughout the year - early access to youtube podcast episodes - private q&a sessions where we can ask real questions and grow together in the faith
one thing that mattered a lot to me when creating this was true formation. catholic formation isn’t meant to be done in isolation, and it does involve our clergy. that’s why it was important to me that the bible study includes an actual priest, alongside someone like austin, who is an incredible teacher and such a gift to this space. if you’re not familiar with them yet, i think you’ll really love getting to know them.
i also want to be clear that all of my regular videos will still be here on youtube. nothing is being taken away or moved behind a paywall. if you’re here for that content, you’re already exactly where you need to be. the patreon is simply for those who want the additional conversations, deeper dives and a more private community setting.
some content there will always be free, and the paid option is just that, an option. no pressure at all. i just wanted to create a space where we can slow down, ask questions, learn, pray and grow together in a more personal way.

Saint Thomas Aquinas teaches that freedom increases as virtue increases. A person is most free not when they have the most options, but when their desires are rightly ordered toward the good.
God has already given us freedom. He gave us free will. Choosing to follow God is not the loss of freedom. It is the exercise of it.
When we choose God, we are not confined. We are freed from sin, from disordered desires, from the thoughts and habits that pull us away from what is good. We are freed from the grasp of the evil one who thrives on distraction and confusion.
When our desires are ordered toward the good, we are most free. Free from sin. Free from evil thoughts. Free to love God clearly.
