Sougata Ghosh's journey began in 2010 when he joined Hyatt Regency Kolkata as a Demi Chef de Partie. During his nearly six years at the property, he honed his skills, learning the intricate balance between art and precision that defines exceptional cooking. His ability to innovate and adapt quickly made him a standout, contributing significantly to the culinary team’s success and enriching his foundation as a chef.
In 2015, Sougata took a significant step by moving to Grand Hyatt Muscat in Oman as a Demi Chef de Partie. This international experience expanded his understanding of diverse cuisines and the dynamics of working in a multicultural kitchen. Over the course of three and a half years, Sougata evolved both as a chef and a leader, mastering new techniques and showcasing his ability to deliver high-quality dishes under pressure.
In 2019, he returned to India, joining JW Marriott as a Chef de Partie. His time at the property was marked by creative leadership and a keen eye for detail. Sougata’s dishes began to reflect a deeper maturity, combining bold flavors with an elegant presentation. It wasn't long before his expertise was recognized, and in September 2019, he was promoted to Sous Chef at Park Hyatt Hyderabad, where he spent two and a half years leading teams and crafting memorable dining experiences for guests.
In early 2022, Sougata rose to the rank of Chef de Cuisine at Park Hyatt. His leadership was pivotal in refining the menu and elevating the dining standards, and he stayed in this role until mid-2022 before transitioning to JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar. Over the next two years, Sougata not only managed a dynamic kitchen team but also played a crucial role in conceptualizing and executing themed dining events that showcased his flair for innovation. The challenges of working in one of Mumbai's most prestigious properties further sharpened his strategic thinking and leadership.
Today, Sougata holds the prestigious position of Executive Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa, a role he began in August 2024.
