Hi everyone! I wanted to let you know that I'm going to miss a few more uploads than usual this week. I'm going to England to visit Dan's family for my sister-in-law's baby shower, and I wasn't able to get as much pre-recorded as I had hoped. I've got enough for almost every day, but I will have to miss 4 uploads total over the next two weeks. I have lots of additional content on ‪@moresimsie‬, and I've got some short form content already edited as well that I'll be posting on the days when I don't have a "normal" video. I really appreciate your patience with me. I started a new medication recently, and I've been dealing with some side effects (mostly nausea and headaches 👎) that are making it difficult for me to work as much as I normally do. It's been a big adjustment, but I'm slowly starting to feel a little bit better. Sending you all so much love, and I will see you tomorrow! 🩷

Hi! I wanted to share a small update about my cat Snap's health. She is almost 18 and has a whole bunch of health issues, but for right now *she is okay*. This is just a new development, and I know a lot of you really care about her so I wanted to keep you in the loop. This might be upsetting to read, and this post will contain some medical descriptions.

She has kidney disease, and we've been giving her fluids at home twice a week for a few months. It's called subcutaneous fluids, and this is a common treatment for later stage kidney disease. Kidney disease is incurable, so the fluids won't solve it but they do definitely help improve her quality of life and help to slow disease progression. I mention that just to give some additional context.

In early 2024 she had surgery to remove a cancerous mass from her hip. It was a tough recovery, but the surgery went well and they got clean margins. Her incision site was literally the size of her entire body. It was really scary, but she's been doing really well ever since.

About six months ago we noticed a new weird lump on the same side, just in a different place. This one is more in the middle of her body. We took her to the vet immediately because it appeared sort of out of nowhere, and it looked really weird. At the time we thought maybe it was a cyst that had ruptured. This is a sort of nasty description and I apologize, but it sort of looked like brains (ew). They gave her an antibiotic injection for it, and then did a fine needle aspiration. They basically stick a needle into it and check to see what sort of cells it's made out of. These can be kind of hit or miss, because you can't get really clear results about the makeup of the entire mass. It's more isolated to what you find in the needle. The results didn't come back saying it was cancerous, but we never really got a clear answer.

The lump healed, and it sort of started to seem like scar tissue. We've been monitoring it ever since, and last week it turned bright red out of nowhere. We took her into the vet immediately, but they still aren't certain what is causing it. It is extremely likely that it is cancerous again, but at this point in Snap's life with all her other health issues the vet felt like it wasn't worth intervening further unless it seemed like it was bothering her. She is too sick to be put under anesthesia to have surgery, so we wouldn't be able to operate on it & there is unfortunately nothing we can do about it. Even if it is cancerous, the reality is that Snap's kidney disease will end her life before the cancer could. This was a really tough thing for me to hear, but deep down I already knew that was true.

We saw the vet on Thursday, but over the weekend the lump started to look even weirder. She wasn't messing with it initially, but she is trying to groom it now. I decided to have her wear a soft cone so that she doesn't hurt herself or make it worse. We're gonna have to take this day by day, and I'm gonna go back to the vet and see what she says about this change. This is disgusting, but it kind of looks like an onion peeling. It's almost worse than a scab, because the entire top layer (including fur) is coming off. Of course they were closed yesterday when it started, but I sent the vet some photos and I'm waiting to see what she says. The goal at this point is more to treat symptoms as they arise, and also to keep her from hurting it or having it become infected.

I'm really, really not taking this well. Obviously I know that she is really old and really sick, but it feels like a reality check of the severity of her situation. I've had Snap since I was 9, and I can't even imagine life without her. It's so horrible to watch her go through this now. It sucks so much to be told my cat probably has cancer, but for her to already be so sick that it doesn't even matter. The vet told me that I'm doing everything I can, and that helped me to hear. It just sucks. Despite everything she is genuinely doing okay. She seems happy, and she's still eating and playing okay. I'll keep you posted on how she's feeling and if she shows any new symptoms. Thank you for caring so much about her. It means a lot to me that she has made such an impact on so many of you as well. She is a really special cat.

Hi everyone! I wanted to take a moment to go over some of my plans for the channel. It is my intention moving forward to continue talking about *free* stuff for The Sims 4, so that includes base game updates, free rewards events, and other similar free content. But, in the future I will not be buying or covering *new paid* content for The Sims 4. That’s why I didn’t make videos about the most recent creator kits, and unfortunately that also means I won’t be making a video about the pack trailer coming out on Thursday.

This is the only time that I’m going to address that new pack because I don’t want to promote it in any way. My hope is that it won’t sell very well, and the lack of sales will send a clear message to EA about how strongly the community feels about the sale of the company. I want them to regret the decision to sell, and this is sort of the only way I know how to help do that. I don’t think it’s likely for the sale to stop at this point, but I’m gonna keep dreaming that it will.

I can’t properly express how heartbreaking this is for me. I deeply, deeply wish that this wasn’t happening because in an ideal world I would love to geek out about a new pack and play with it loads here on YouTube. But right now, I believe that promoting a new expansion (even just by talking about it) would be irresponsible.

I know there will be a lot of people who are disappointed by this decision because you come to me for information on Sims packs, and for that I am sorry. I truly love The Sims and I love doing reviews of packs, and I so badly wish that I could continue right now. I just don’t think it’s right, and for that reason I will not even unintentionally promote this pack for them by playing with it.

I understand that this might seem really hypocritical because I did make a video on the Spongebob packs, but when I made that video I really did not realize that it would come off that way. Truly, my intention with that video was to show off how bad, lazy, and cheap they were to be making something so ridiculous and poorly executed. Those kits were already being promoted so heavily that I figured everyone would already know about them, and I hoped that by covering them critically I could discourage people from buying them. I thought it was such an unbelievable misstep from EA that it needed to be talked about. I didn’t think about it as choosing Spongebob slop over any other pack, but I completely understand why some people see it that way. I had this “I’ll buy it so they don’t have to” mindset, but after I posted the video a lot of people were really frustrated and disappointed in me for doing it, and for buying it or promoting it at all. I absolutely understand that, and I truly apologize that I let you down. I really appreciated everyone having such thoughtful discussions on it in the comments. Your perspectives have really helped me with making decisions on future content. I’m mentioning it again here because I don’t want to come across as hypocritical, or for it to seem like I’m making these decisions lightly.

I really am trying to do the right thing here, and this is just an unprecedented awful situation with no clear “right” path forward. The EA sale has put every Sims creator in a really hard place. Everyone is gonna have different perspectives on what the “right” thing to do is, and I’m sort of taking this day by day and trying to figure out what to do with my channel and my videos in the future.

That’s why I’m making a lot of Animal Crossing and House Flipper content lately in addition to my regular content about pre-existing Sims stuff. I know you’re all here for The Sims, but I am trying to slowly introduce some other games that I also love. I really appreciate all of your support with those new non-Sims videos. I know it’s a huge change for this channel, and it means the world to me that so many of you are enjoying them.

This is actually going to be a really fun week because there’s a huge update for Animal Crossing coming out, and it’s the first update in YEARS. They had previously announced that there would be no future updates for Animal Crossing New Horizons after November 2021, and now all of a sudden they’re doing this. So it’s a really unexpected and really fun surprise. I’ll be making a bunch of videos about it, and I hope that you enjoy them. I have been counting down the days for this update ever since they announced it (and it couldn’t have come at a better time…)

Hopefully this helps to clarify some of my plans for the future. Thank you so, so much for continuing to support me through all of this. We have the most incredible community, and I am eternally grateful for every single one of you. 💜

Hi everyone! I've never done this before, but I'm going to take a few days off for Christmas this year & post a little bit less this week. I've still got videos ready to post every other day, and I'll be back to "normal" before the new year!

My dad had surgery yesterday, and I want to be able to spend proper time with my family and be around to help out when needed. Everything is all good! He had a hip replacement. He's doing okay and he'll be able to leave the hospital today, but he's obviously in a lot of pain. Should make for an interesting Christmas!

If you're looking for more Simsie videos I have a TON of other content on my second channel (it's literally called‪@moresimsie‬), and I've got a few videos scheduled to go up there this week as well. That's where I reupload all my livestreams, so they're really really long videos.

I always feel really guilty missing uploads, and I hate to disappoint people like this. It's been a really weird tough year, and I'm trying to prioritize family time. This has been in the works for a really, really long time and I am so happy with what we've made! I get asked about merch constantly, and I am so excited to finally have something to share with you! All of this feels very "grandma hobby" coded, and I know a lot of you are also into some of these same things. The quilted tote bag and book sleeve are inspired by some of the things that I love to sew! I've sewn dozens of book sleeves exactly like this as gifts for friends and family, and I love to make tote bags (though I've never made anything quite as nice as this lol). I didn't sew these particular items (I'm not that good or that quick, and it would take me a full day just to make *one* of these bags... maybe longer hahaha), but I sent loads of photos of stuff I've been making and we tried to recreate something similar!
