نپولین بوناپارٹ 15 اگست 1769 کو کورسیکا (فرانس) میں پیدا ہوا۔ ایک درمیانے طبقے کے خاندان سے تعلق رکھتا تھا، لیکن اپنی فوجی ذہانت اور محنت کے بل بوتے پر فرانس کی ملٹری اکیڈمی میں داخلہ لیا اور کم عمری میں ہی فوجی افسر بن گیا۔
فرانسیسی انقلاب (1789) کے بعد جو سیاسی افراتفری پھیلی، اس میں نپولین نے اپنی باصلاحیت فوجی قیادت دکھائی — خاص طور پر 1796 میں اٹلی مہم میں شاندار فتوحات حاصل کر کے وہ فرانس کا سب سے مشہور جنرل بن گیا۔
1799 میں اس نے ایک بغاوت کے ذریعے فرانس کی حکومت پر قبضہ کر لیا اور خود کو "فرسٹ قونسل" بنایا۔ 1804 میں اس نے خود کو شہنشاہِ فرانس کا تاج پہنایا۔
اپنے دورِ حکومت میں نپولین نے یورپ کے زیادہ تر حصوں پر فوجی فتوحات حاصل کیں — آسٹریا، پرشیا، روس، اور اسپین جیسے بڑے ممالک کو شکست دی۔ اس نے نپولین کوڈ بھی بنایا، جو آج بھی کئی ممالک کے قانونی نظام کی بنیاد ہے۔
لیکن 1812 میں روس پر حملہ اسے بھاری نقصان دے گیا — لاکھوں فوجی سردی اور بھوک سے مارے گئے۔ اس شکست کے بعد اس کی طاقت کمزور ہونا شروع ہوئی۔
1814 میں اسے شکست ہوئی اور ایلبا جزیرے پر جلاوطن کر دیا گیا۔ لیکن وہ واپس آیا اور دوبارہ فرانس کی حکومت سنبھالی — یہ دور "ہنڈرڈ ڈیز" کہلاتا ہے۔
آخرکار، 18 جون 1815 کو واٹرلو کی جنگ میں اسے حتمی شکست ہوئی۔ اس کے بعد اسے سینٹ ہیلینا جزیرے بھیج دیا گیا، جہاں 5 مئی 1821 کو اس کا انتقال ہوا۔

اوتلوق بیلی کی جنگ 11 اگست 1473ء کو مشرقی اناطولیہ (موجودہ ترکی) میں لڑی گئی۔ یہ جنگ سلطنتِ عثمانیہ کے سلطان محمد ثانی (فاتح قسطنطنیہ) اور آق قوینلو (White Sheep Turkoman) سلطنت کے حکمران اوزون حسن کے درمیان ہوئی۔
پس منظر:
اوزون حسن مشرقی اناطولیہ، عراق اور ایران کے بڑے حصے پر حکومت کرتا تھا اور ایک طاقتور اور مہتواکانکشی حکمران تھا۔ عثمانی سلطنت کی مسلسل بڑھتی ہوئی طاقت اسے پریشان کرتی تھی، خاص طور پر جب سلطان محمد ثانی نے قسطنطنیہ فتح کر کے (1453ء) اور دیگر علاقوں میں پیش قدمی کر کے اپنا اثر و رسوخ بڑھایا۔ وینس (Venice) جیسی یورپی طاقتوں نے بھی اوزون حسن کو عثمانیوں کے خلاف اکسایا اور ہتھیاروں کی مدد فراہم کی، تاکہ عثمانی سلطنت کو کمزور کیا جا سکے۔
جنگ:
اوزون حسن نے ایک بڑی فوج کے ساتھ عثمانی علاقوں پر حملہ کیا۔ سلطان محمد ثانی نے خود اپنی فوج کی قیادت کی اور دونوں افواج اوتلوق بیلی کے مقام پر آمنے سامنے ہوئیں۔ عثمانی فوج کے پاس جدید توپیں اور بارود والے ہتھیار (جنیساری دستے) موجود تھے، جبکہ اوزون حسن کی فوج زیادہ تر روایتی گھڑسوار دستوں پر مشتمل تھی۔
نتیجہ:
عثمانی توپوں اور بارود کی برتری نے فیصلہ کن کردار ادا کیا، اور اوزون حسن کی فوج کو بھاری شکست کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔ اس جنگ میں ہزاروں فوجی مارے گئے۔
اہمیت:
اس فتح نے سلطان محمد ثانی کی طاقت کو مزید مستحکم کیا اور اناطولیہ میں عثمانی بالادستی کو یقینی بنا دیا۔ دوسری طرف، اوزون حسن اور آق قوینلو سلطنت کی طاقت کمزور پڑ گئی، اور کچھ عرصے بعد یہ سلطنت زوال پذیر ہو گئی۔ یہ جنگ تاریخ میں اس بات کی مثال کے طور پر جانی جاتی ہے کہ کس طرح بارود اور توپوں نے جنگی حکمت عملی کا نقشہ بدل دیا۔
