Where you can meet Video Game Nerds:
In person:
Anime conventions: Attend cons to meet other fans.
TCG Events: One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and other anime have card games you can play with others.
Art workshops and classes: Learn to draw anime-style art or fan art.
Japanese Classes: Learn Japanese. Other students might be learning because of anime.
Anime Parties: Some may involve cosplay, karaoke, or just anime soundtracks to dance to.
LGSs: Local game stores often sell anime merch and have activities where you can meet other nerds.
Online:
Discord servers: Participate in gaming-focused Discord communities for your favorite genres or titles.
Anime-specific forums: Engage with online community forums around your favorite anime genres.
Cosplayer Communities: Follow and engage with creators and their audience.
Online multiplayer games: Play anime-style multiplayer games.
Just remember to focus on making friends and unlocking your Skill Tree!

Socializing can be exhausting. On the 6th day of a 7-day event I was completely over it. So I took the day off and went sightseeing with a handful of friends.
Today, the last day, I went to a talk without feeling like socializing with anyone, but ended up finding one person with whom we had an amazing (and energizing) conversation.
You donāt need to socialize 24/7. Not all social activities are great. Itās ok to take breaks. As long as those breaks arenāt forever.
But at least try.

Imagine: You want to go on a Quest to get some particular loot. Itās a Raid, so you canāt go solo. As a Healer, you stay at the back using your spells and Skills. Butā¦ you get surrounded by enemies on all fronts.
Your idea of āstaying far from dangerā isnāt quite working. You look at your action bar, and you have nothing that can deal much damage. Ok. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Rather than depending on your teammates and asking them for help, you try to reach an empty areaā¦ through the swarm of enemies. Unfortunately, your defense is too low. āThis is not how it was supposed to be,ā you say, as you watch your HP bar reach 0 within seconds.

I find it so heartbreaking seeing people who go on first dates with complete strangers (e.g. from dating apps or cold approaches) getting frustrated that they canāt start a relationship. Itās not that easy to truly connect with strangers in only one date.
I never hear about them trying to make friends to grow their social network to find someone they connect with before going on any dates. It just makes me sad.

Sometimes you connect with someone, sometimes you donāt. Sometimes it takes meeting a person a couple of times before you actually click with them.
Just like a boss fight, you not always win on the first try.
And it can feel discouraging. But if you keep a good attitude, you increase your chances next time.
