People aren’t hating the Gathbandhan without reason.
The truth is — Lalu Yadav’s era left scars that still haven’t healed.
From 1990 to 2005, Bihar went through:

🔻 Jungle Raj — crime, kidnappings, extortion became daily life
🔻 Massive corruption — fodder scam still remembered
🔻 No development — roads, hospitals, schools were collapsing
🔻 Law & order failure — police were powerless, criminals were powerful
🔻 Caste-based politics — appointments, postings, decisions driven by caste equations, not merit
🔻 Migration — lakhs of youth fled Bihar for survival and jobs
🔻 Economy collapsed — Bihar became synonymous with backwardness

These memories don’t fade.
Even 20 years later, people fear:
Will law & order return to chaos?
Will bureaucracy again become politicised?
Will corruption come back openly?
Will development stop?
Will criminals get emboldened again under political protection?
This is why Gathbandhan faces a trust deficit, even when new leaders try to present a modern image.
Public memory is simple:

👉 “We don’t want Bihar to go back to 1990–2005.”
Until the alliance breaks free from the shadow of that era and shows a new governance model with credibility, people will always hesitate, fear, or vote against them.

This is not hate.
This is trauma + experience + fear of repeating history.
