I have been hoping this pair of woodpeckers would hatch babies here. Since this is the first year they stayed longer than a day. So it is official. We will get to see baby Pileated woodpeckers.

I wanted to hear him communicate with his partner in this short. They have been here for 5 weeks. Together they aggressively defend their territory. For generations it has been Lenny the Blue Jay families job. Gonna be interesting to see how this works out.

A flock of Starlings, Grackles and Brown-headed Cowbirds, stopped by to refreshen up. When the flock left 4 Starlings stayed. It’s been a monthnow. They are living next door.
