We got called a scam 🥺 Then we got a request: show pea shoots growing in a mesh tray without soil, including the seeds germinating.

Challenge accepted.

Two weeks, no soil, and a camera to document it. The peas apparently didn’t get the memo that this wouldn’t work.

Swipe through the grow, then watch how we did it:

What's holding the film down? Aluminum lock channel and spring wire. Every Derecho has 4-year, 6 mil greenhouse film with diffusion and UV inhibitors.

CAN IT BE MOVED?
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
ALL AT ONCE OR STAGGERED?
DOES IT NEED WINTER?

Run each crop through them and you’ll see what starts in cells, what goes in the ground, and what waits for spring.

Our 6 mil clear film has a 4-year UV rating and warranty, and many films last well past that. One of our team replaced a 6 mil film after 11 years. How long yours lasts depends on where you are and how it’s cared for.
Regular hardware store sheeting lacks UV protection and can degrade within months. Check for a UV rating before you buy.

Drop your crop list and your climate in the comments. I’ll do a little research and give you my recommendation.
