𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐢𝐝-𝐞-𝐀𝐳𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐢 𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡

On the birth anniversary of 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐢𝐝-𝐞-𝐀𝐳𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐢 𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡, we reflect upon and reaffirm our commitment to the principles of inclusivity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence that form the foundation of Pakistan.

Quaid-e-Azam envisioned Pakistan as a state where all citizens—regardless of religion, faith, or belief—enjoy equal rights, dignity, and freedom. He clearly expressed this vision in his historic address to the Constituent Assembly on 11 August 1947, stating:

“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞; 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝—𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞.”

This vision is fully in line with the teachings of Islam, as guided by the 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐐𝐮𝐫’𝐚𝐧 and the 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 ﷺ, which teach justice, human dignity, and respect for diversity. The Qur’an says:

﴿ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا ﴾

“𝐎 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝! 𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.”
