Coding, ESP Arduino, 3D printing, Cycling, fixing things, electronics, home automation, Radio control. All things that I do that I enjoy. I am creative and would like to share my new journey.

This channel all started around the small temp and humid sensor, shown on the channel art. Cheap from China with no documentation and a load of downloadable files. I could not use or understand how to use the files, i am used to the Arduino IDE. So I went able figuring it out. It did not help that the PCB board is wired up in a non standard way and the TEMP and HUMID sensor was dead on arrival.

I have two 3d printers a Creality 5 Plus and an Ultimaker2. I love using LEDs, The Max7219 LED matrix are great fun and cheap. Moving on to RGB matrixs and strings later. I have a few build RGB LED builds that I am working on. Time consuming creating the CAD designs, the software will be the easy part, I hope.

Working on my EEZ projects over the Christmas holiday. Made progress and learned new things the hard way. Will push out some more videos soon.

Over the next few weeks I will hopefully be back on coding the tft screen and getting arduino data too and from it

Some of you may recognise this design concept. I have used Isaac879 design and super sized it to fit my canon 7D it will also fit like a 5D etc. I have made many changes to this beefing up the supports and overall size. It's been a learn curve especially drawing the herringbone gears. It's still all in CAD with more work to do. I will have the order of bearing, bolts etc done I hope in a few days. I will make some adaptors to allow a phone to be mounted, yep way over kill bit why not.

I will be having more sensors, so I am working on a pcb, another step learning curve. This is not going to be a quick project as still so much to learn.

As for the control I hope to use a wireless touch screen to program the slider and see feed back.

Creating the UI is another steep learning curve.

I will be using one of two esp32 micro controllers as the brains.

What do you think.

All feed back welcomed

Woo this has been a long mission, with many explosions along the way.. The Project was originally made by Isaac879 some 5 years ago. You can find him on Youtube.

I used his design for visual reference and redraw all the parts to fit my Canon 7D. It will also fit other large camera's and not only Canon ones. In the mock up I show a Canon 5DMkII. Well it be a very long adventure getting this far.

So this is not just a scaled up version of Isacc879 design but a complete redesign. The gear design is also very different, I believe I have used a much stepper twist angle of the double herringbone gears. As the main circle base is much bigger 192mm vs 152mm dimeter i gear ratios have also changed.

I still have to design in the hall affect sensor for homing and design the bottom 20x60 vslot rail mount. I think I will have my battery down here to even out the weight distribution.

I have had to learn new CAD skill and spent many many hours on this redesign. Its around 26% larger and has many new features which I hope will improve strength and produce less to not camera unwanted movement.

The main bearing will be 3D printed with with 6 or 8mm stainless steel high quality BB.

I will write my own code for an ESP32. I will control the slider with a wireless remote touch screen, well that's the plan. I have been slowly working on the UI but I know the code is going to be another tough up hill learning experience.

This is a slow project as its not on top of my list. But now the CAD 3D design is almost complete I hope this will spur me on with the code.

I want go into detail here what else i changed in the design but its has many new features which i hope will come to light once i have it assembled in the real world and its motion system is working.

Subscribe as not the miss its launch with a detailed build and once the code is complete a detailed walk though of it.

So i am working on loads of stuff at the moment, laser videos, RGB LED videos and coding the ESp8266. Just because I am not posting videos does not mean I have my feet up.
