Garo Paylan is a well-known Turkish politician and one of the first Armenians to become a member of the Turkish Parliament.

Today, Paylan is one of the most effective intermediaries between Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United States. It was he who, in an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, asked Donald Trump to act as a mediator and peacemaker between Armenia and Azerbaijan. And everything unfolded exactly as Paylan predicted — the war in Nagorno-Karabakh ended, and relations between the countries are no longer as tense.

Paylan believes that Azerbaijan and Armenia can stop being enemies and begin to cooperate — that hatred is not something passed down from generation to generation.

In this interview, we also speak with Garo about the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and discuss why it is essential for any country not to bury its state-sponsored crimes but to confront them openly.

The United States is ramping up pressure on Venezuela. The Trump administration is considering military options against Maduro, while the State Department has labeled the “Cartel de los Soles” (allegedly linked to President Maduro) a terrorist organization, opening the door to potential force. What’s really happening in Venezuela? And why is the U.S. targeting this country above all others?

We break down the situation in Venezuela, Ecuador, and Colombia with Michelle Arevalo-Carpenter, a human-rights lawyer from Ecuador.

So, Trump has become the new President of the United States. I've discussed the upcoming presidential elections with all my recent guests, and Victoria Nuland had some particularly insightful things to say.

"Whatever Donald Trump may or may not believe, the American people hate a bully and they hate an aggressor. And they always have. That's what we are born of a perception that in those days, Great Britain was trying to bully us. Right. And what we have stood for for all of these years is the sovereignty and self-determination of nations. And so, whatever Trump may want to do, I don't think the American people will let him abandon Ukraine."

This is Leszek Balcerowicz, the father of Poland’s economic reforms. The 1990s were just as significant for Poland as they were for Russia. Reforms in the style of "shock therapy" were implemented there as well. The only difference is that Poland succeeded.
Russian reformers studied Poland's experience and used it as a reference. So what went wrong in Russia? Why did Poland become a democratic country with a market economy, while Russia ended up with a dictatorship?

Victoria Nuland played a significant role in the U.S. foreign policy, particularly concerning Russia, Ukraine, and the countries of the former Soviet Union. Nuland participated in negotiations between Russia and NATO in the '90s, as well as in talks between Russia and Ukraine in 2016 and 2022. She recently left the State Department, so now she can share a lot of new insights.

Did George H.W. Bush and James Baker really never promise Gorbachev that NATO wouldn’t expand eastward? Why wasn’t Ukraine admitted to NATO in 2008? And is it true that in April 2022, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson discouraged Ukrainians from signing a peace agreement? Additionally, what might happen if Donald Trump becomes the next U.S. president?

New interview coming today. Here's what my guest says about anti-American conspiracy: "Even within America, in the faraway parts of America. People think everyone in New York and Washington is part of some big conspiracy theory. So it's a kind of suspicion of great power. Russia has this very much because Moscow is at the center. And the further away you go, everyone thinks everything in Moscow is a conspiracy."

Yuval Noah Harari in his interview says: "Russian people are able to find small ways to kind of prick the regime and put these little sticks into the war machine" Do you have any ideas of that could be? Share your thoughts in comments
