Multiple storm clusters (MCSs) are expected to roll through the Midwest this morning and push east toward the Appalachians and Virginia later today.

Out west, the Northern Plains could see evening supercells capable of hail and strong winds as instability builds.

🌧️ Central Pacific Tropical Update – Invest 93C

A broad area of low pressure—designated Invest 93C—continues to organize far east‑southeast of Hawaii. Conditions remain favorable for development, and a tropical depression is expected to form by mid‑week as the system begins moving west‑northwest.

While it’s still too early to pinpoint a final track, Hawaii should closely monitor this system. Even if the center stays offshore, impacts such as:

🌊 Large surf & dangerous rip currents

🌧️ Heavy tropical rainfall

💨 Gusty winds

could reach the islands later this week.

🌊 POST 2 — Atlantic | Central Tropical Atlantic Disturbance
🌀 Atlantic Tropical Weather Outlook – 8 PM EDT

A low‑pressure area located southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is showing signs of gradual organization. The National Hurricane Center says a tropical depression will likely form later this week as it tracks west to west‑northwest across the central tropical Atlantic.

Current development chances:

30% in the next 48 hours

70% over the next 7 days

This system is one to watch as we move deeper into the heart of hurricane season. Additional waves behind it also bear watching, though development chances remain low at this time.

The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded parts of South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa to an Enhanced Risk for severe storms tonight. Confidence is rising in a powerful MCS capable of producing widespread damaging winds — including gusts over 75 mph as storms race east overnight.

Meanwhile, the Mid‑Atlantic continues to deal with an ongoing line of storms producing numerous wind damage reports, and additional severe weather remains possible into the evening.

Key Hazards Today:
🌩️ Supercells with large hail (2+ inches)
💨 Widespread damaging winds — some potentially significant
🌪️ A couple tornadoes possible early in storm development
🔥 Strong instability + strong shear = organized severe weather
