📌 Global Affairs, Treaties & Indexes — 30% 3 out of 10 questions
📌 National Policy & Recent Developments — 10% 1 out of 10 questions
📌 Bangladesh Geography & Tourism — 10% 1 out of 10 questions
Total: 10 GK Questions
So, what does this tell us?
The biggest takeaway is that BUP FBS/BBA General heavily focuses on current affairs.
So, how should you prepare?
For Economics, Global Affairs, National Policy, Business Trends and Tourism, focus primarily on .
Don't waste your time memorizing outdated information like what happened to Bangladesh's economy decades ago. Instead, keep yourself updated with what is happening now: major economic developments, international events, treaties, rankings, policies, business news, etc.
For Liberation War & Bangladesh History, however, you shouldn't completely skip the static portion.
📖 Get a good EV GK book and thoroughly complete only the Liberation War section. It can cover around 30% of the GK section, making it one of the most important areas to prepare.
And the remaining 10–20%?
Honestly, it can come from almost anywhere.
But here comes my most important advice:
DON'T OVERSTUDY GK.
Yes, you read that right.
If you're a Business Studies student, your group subjects carry much more importance. Instead of spending hours trying to cover every possible GK topic, I'd rather recommend strengthening your core subjects and trying to grab that extra 1–2 mark from the other sections.
The return on investment is simply better.
One more thing you MUST know 👇
BUP FBS does **not** have a single question in Bangla.
The entire question paper, including the GK section, is in English.
So your preparation shouldn't just be about knowing the answer. You also need to be comfortable understanding GK questions in English and identifying what the question is actually asking.
