Another 83 Nigerian returnees from South Africa
Another eighty-three Nigerians have returned home from South Africa.
The return comes amid concerns over anti-foreigner protests in that country in recent months.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos aboard a South African Airways flight from Johannesburg.
The ministry clarified that they were accompanied by two officials from the Consulate-General of Nigeria in Johannesburg.
Receiving them on behalf of the Federal Government was the Director of the African Affairs Department, Ambassador Haruna Ali-Gombe.
The ministry noted that the repatriation was made possible through flight tickets sponsored by kind-hearted private individuals.
After documentation and profiling by relevant government agencies, the returnees will be reunited with their families.

NCPC Lifts Ban on Christian Pilgrimage to Israel
The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has announced the lifting of the suspension on Christian pilgrimage to Israel, paving the way for the resumption of pilgrim activities to the Holy Land.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, disclosed that the ban, which was imposed in February following the outbreak of the US-Israel-Iran conflict, has now been lifted.
