Hi, I’m Dan

I turn junk into money. Scrap metal tearing down, copper extraction, e-waste breakdowns, tool testing and recycling education — all filmed in a real working shop. New videos weekly.

I brought home a trailer full of these giant industrial units… and one of them looked like it should’ve been worth a fortune.

I despise scrapping printers.

I spent three hours gutting this commercial Lexmark "friend" today and let’s just say the Scrap Math is... humbling. I forgot the whiteboard at home, so I ended up using a broken piece of printer plastic as a ledger.

If you’ve ever wondered if e-waste is actually worth your time or just a massive mistake, this one is for you. No hype, just the gritty truth from the shop.

Question for the shop floor: What’s the one item YOU absolutely regret ever picking up a screwdriver for? Let me know in the comments.

IT JUST DROPPED! 🚨

The 3rd generator is officially on the bench! This Vintage Coleman was a total beast to tear down, but the copper inside did not disappoint.

I’m keeping the totals for this one separate because the Ultimate Generator Weigh-In is coming soon to see which brand takes the crown.

Watch it here: https://youtu.be/t-jyhKDpnTU

I’ve also got that massive Lexmark printer staring at me, taking up way too much room. Should that be the next project, or should I hunt for more heavy metal?

$63.48 Payout. Not bad for a unit that looked like a complete "Scrap Trap." 💰

I’m being critically honest in the new video—I even pulled a total idiot move and forgot a main bolt halfway through the teardown. But between the Map Gas trick and the final weigh-in, this beat-up yellow generator turned into a 6.9 lb copper jackpot.

Is $42/hour worth your time in the shop? Watch the full breakdown and see the math for yourself.

$6 Investment → 7+ lbs of Copper. 💰

I scrapped the largest generator on YouTube, but this little light industrial unit might actually be the better payday. If you want the blunt truth about whether these vintage motors are a waste of time or a copper goldmine, the new video is live now.

We’re weighing every chunk and keeping it critically honest.

Success! No puller? No problem. 🛠️🔥

I’m working on a massive generator teardown for a couple of weeks from now, but I found a trick for removing a stubborn armature from a tapered shaft that was too good to keep to myself. I know a lot of you have struggled with these, so I put together a quick 3-minute breakdown of the MAPP gas and WD-40 trick.

Stop beating on your equipment and try this instead.

Stick around for the full teardown—the copper reveal on this beast is going to be a jackpot! 💰

I’ve spent the last three weeks tripping over this massive 'Big High Bay.' Tonight, we’re putting it to the test against a scaled-down 'Small High Bay'—same style, different size—to see which one actually pays. The math is wild—one of these clocked in at $83/hour in scrap value. Cast your vote below, and get ready for the full weight breakdown at 7 PM Mountain. Don't waste your time on the wrong junk. view right here https://youtu.be/b0jpn70GFyI

I found this 'compost bin' PC in a ditch. 🍂 Most people see trash, but I see a $60 Socket 7 motherboard and a $110 Bigfoot drive. Would you have scrapped it or checked inside? Let me know in the comments! 👇

THE $3,000 DOOR-TO-DOOR "SPACESHIP" IS ON THE BENCH! 🚀⚒️

Can you believe someone actually paid three grand for this 1992 TriStar back in the day? That’s more than my first truck cost! Now, it's just sitting here with a cut cord, waiting to see if there’s actually enough copper inside to make the juice worth the squeeze.

We’re stripping the high-grade aluminum and gutting this "indestructible" tank to see what 1992 engineering is really made of.

3.5HP > 5HP? The Math is Broken.

I just tore down a "5HP" motor that had LESS copper than the 3.5HP sitting next to it. Absolute fantasy label

If you’re out there scrapping for profit, you need to see this comparison before you waste your time on these "big" motors. Watch this video 3.5HP vs 5HP: The Copper Scam Revealed
