My art has been evolving slowly and is typically a very loose style blurring the line between abstract and expressionism. Last night I really enjoyed painting this monochromatic moon over the water using one of the white night granulating watercolours. I’ve been working on a course for my Watercolour students to take that focusses on granulation and types of paintings like this. It’s funny how much a Watercolour can teach you when you are painting with it for the very first time. That’s why I love to discover new paint colours even though I have been painting for over 3 decades.

All my successes are built on top of my many failures. It's through those failures that I was able to find the best path for me. I think success comes through many years of trials and self-discovery, putting aside your fears to push forward and try something you've never tried before.

Fast forward to this many years later and now my decisions are built on top of those failures that make the current choices based on knowledge of what's worked for me in the past.

But I will alwayds be thankful for my failures no matter how tough they were because without all those initial failures, I would never have been able to make the tough choices that I'm making today for my future.

There's nothing like the knowledge failure teaches you, those are the most powerful points of your journey.
