Where reading, writing, and the creative life meet — from Norway. 🩷
Hi, I’m Tracy, your literary companion here on BookTube. This is a space for a literary life — slow, thoughtful, and intentional. Think of it as a house built of books, with many rooms to explore: reflection, reading, creativity, learning, and quiet companionship.
Here, reading is more than a hobby — it’s a way of noticing the world, thinking deeply, and living deliberately. You’ll find reflective book videos, reading journeys, essays on creativity, and seasonal inspiration that shapes how I read, write, photograph, and even design my knitwear.
I’m an American living in beautiful Norway, and this channel is a place to cultivate curiosity, explore ideas, and celebrate a creative, thoughtful life. Whether you’re here for literary conversation, quiet focus, or inspiration for your own creative practice, you’re warmly welcome.
Welcome to my house! 🩷✨

Hello there, Friends... and May the 4th be with you! 🤩 A great day to celebrate all the fun of Star Wars. Any Star Wars fans here?!
For May 4th reading, I'll be starting Sanctuary by Lamar Giles, a novel featuring the Bad Batch. I'm really excited to read this as I love the Bad Batch animation series, and I'm glad those Clone Force 99 guys have their own book! I bought this book back in December, but decided to save it for May 4th.
Husband TJ and I are both Star Wars fans. And this evening we'll be watching the last two episodes of Maul: Shadow Lord. We've loved the series and are looking forward to the conclusion... but glad to know another series is planned. Have you watched it?
May the Force be with you, always...
With LOVE,
Tracy 🩷

Hi, Friends! 🌷Here we are in the last days of April already! In this liminal time between months, and shift between reading, I have a "palate cleanser" of poetry and manga.☺️
Sakura, Sake by Io Sakisaka is a sweet teen-centred story about friendship, kindness, and discovering first love. The soft artwork adds beautifully to the gentle storytelling. I'm on volume one and really enjoying this so far.
And I'm reading a bilingual poetry collection—Ukrainian and Norwegian—by writer Iryna Shuvalova. The poems here unfold as a series of intimate dialogues between human and landscape. How the bonds between people and the places that shape them. Really good!
I'll be filming this month's reading wrap-up video and hope to have it ready for you by Friday. I would love to know what you've been reading this month! 📖
With LOVE,
Tracy 🩷

Hello, my Friends! 🙋🏻♀️ How are you doing with something you started at the new year? Is there a new hobby, a skill you've been trying, or something new you added to your life? I'd love to hear about it and how it's going! 😀
Back in January, I revived the practice of sourdough baking, primarily bread baking. It was going really well until a couple of weeks ago, when my sourdough starter... went mouldy — yuck! 😬 I'm trying to get a good starter going again. In the meantime, I've been baking with commercial dry yeast, which works just fine, though the "flavour picture" isn't quite the same. This week I baked a spelt loaf that turned out really well and is very tasty. I had been using a recipe book as a guide, but now I'm playing with different grain types and ratios, and the fun of seeing how each loaf turns out!
Wishing you all a great day! 🌷

Hello, my Friends! 🙋🏻♀️ How are you? I very much hope that everything is well with all of you. The days of April are flying fast, aren't they? I hope you've had some good reading this month. I will begin filming my reading wrap-up for this month in a couple of days, and I look forward to sharing all the good books.
For today, though, some fun mail/post! My husband, TJ, ordered the new Malcolm Guite book Galahad and the Grail (book 1 of Merlin's Isle: An Arthuriad), and it arrived yesterday. A beautifully produced book by Canterbury Press, it features many wonderful illustrations by Stephen Crotts.
TJ has claimed the book to read for now, so I will have to wait my turn. 😂 But I couldn't resist sharing a little bit of now!
What are you reading at the moment? 📖

Hello, lovely Friends! ☺️ Just sharing a few photos from an early-spring walk along one of our local beaches.
I will let the images speak for themselves. The seafoam looks like frothy, beautiful lace...
Happy Day!

Hello there, my Friends! 🙋🏻♀️Hope your week is off to a good start. And I hope you have some good reading ahead of you in April.📚 I've just brought home a few manga from the library to read this month. Thankfully, we can borrow books for 4 weeks. Some new-to-me series this time: Snow White with the Red Hair, Otomen, and I Am a Cat Barista. I've also borrowed volume 10 of A Sign of Affection, which has become one of my favourite series. Such great stories, and great artwork! ☺️

TJ & I (along with kitty Mochi) are looking forward to the long holiday weekend. Not much planned. Rest, relaxation, reading... all the good things. ☺️
📖 Today I have a video going up, in which I'm participating along with BookTube friend Paul's (of The Accidental Bookseller) invitation to talk about the books of my childhood... I hope you'll join me for the fun!

Hi, Friends! 🙋🏻♀️ How are you? I hope you are doing well and having a good week so far. Somehow, it's already the last day of March, and we turn the page to a new month tomorrow. With a change of month comes new reading.
For April, I'm adding something extra to my Japanese studies -- the decorative embroidery technique of sashiko. Sashiko can be decorative on its own, but it is also a beautiful method for mending garments. While Japanese food/food culture is my primary focus for my spring curriculum, I've been wanting to try sashiko for a long time. Spring feels like a nice time to try new things!
This book, The Ultimate Sashiko Sourcebook by Susan Briscoe, is a great comprehensive guide to the art of sashiko, offering some history (very interesting!) as well as an overview of supplies, lots of sections with technique & various stitch styles, and some project ideas with instructions, supplies lists, etc. Nice projects! I've ordered some sashiko supplies to give this art form a try. I love the textile arts!
What are your plans for reading and life this spring? Or for autumn for Southern Hemisphere friends?

Tracy 💖
