Jane Austen by candlelight... and with a cup of tea, of course. 😉☕This week, I'm finishing Emma by Jane Austen, the final book in my Jane Austen/Regency-period reading project for this year. How quickly the time has passed, I can hardly believe it. It feels just right: this reading by candlelight, with a sense of tenderness as we near the year's end. And reading Austen has made her an excellent reading companion this year! On Friday, I will share a video with some thoughts about reading Jane Austen this year. 📚How has your week been so far? And what reading? Do you have any reading projects you are finishing during these December days?🩷

Hello there, Friends! ☺️I hope you are having a good week so far... and maybe some good reading is accompanying you through the days too? This week has been so busy, and in the evenings, I've been exhausted. So it has been nice to take things easy and read the new Under the Oak Tree comic volume 2. 📖 Along with a cup of tea, it's been a delight to pick up this story again and admire the beautiful artwork. Happy Day 🩷

Hello, Friends! 🙋🏻♀️Manga this month! My manga reading was a bit less than usual. I was still able to borrow some volumes of series I've been reading for months, while others I wasn't able to get in time to read in November. Anyway...the goodies! Volume 6 of A Sign of Affection by suu Morishita—I love this sweet romance series with deaf/deafness representation done so well! * Then there was volume 8 of Monstress: Inferno—another compelling issue of this dark fantasy series. * A great surprise was finally getting a hold of volume 7 of The Girl from the Other Side—I really enjoy this kind of spooky series and had started reading it in e-book format, but got stuck at volume 6... So, very happy the library system now has this manga series too. * And I read volume 3 of A Silent Voice (in Norwegian translation: Silhuett av en stemme), a very sweet story about a deaf girl bullied at school, but the bully regrets his actions, changes his heart, and seeks to be her friend! 📖 Today I will be sharing my usual monthly reading wrap-up on the channel. I would love to hear about some special books you read this month! Happy Day 🩷

"What if, today, we were grateful for everything?" — Charlie Brown 🍂 HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my family and friends in America and around the world too, as you celebrate tomorrow!☺️ Many places around the world celebrate a Thanksgiving holiday at different times. I think it is a wonderful thing. Thanksgiving is not a holiday here in Norway, but TJ & I will celebrate in our own way this coming weekend. 🥂It is with a grateful heart that I also take today to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the many new subscribers here and to all of you who have been here with me for a year now.📖 I am so thankful for the friendship, care and book love we share here! 🩷

Hello, my Friends! 🙋🏻♀️ How are you? I hope you're having a good week so far. I just wanted to share a moment of beauty with you today! These last weeks of the year seem to fly by faster than any other time of the year. Our little garden is ready for its "rest," and end-of-season chores are done here at home for winter. One last task was clipping the fading flower heads of the hydrangeas. They were extra stunning this year, and I find them almost even more lovely as their colours change and wane... I love the beauty and melancholy of this time of year! 🍂 Happy Day 🩷

Hello, my friends! ☺️ Something just for fun, but book-related. 📚 Our local is great--great people running it, great selections, great lectures & events, and great ways with book displays. For October & November, they've had a main display featuring fantasy fiction, with a wonderful, fanciful tree that extends outward from the shelves. Very clever! I think I'd like this for here at home! 😍 Happy Day! 🩷

Hello, my friends! ☺️ Hope your November is off to a beautiful start! For, me the month has begun with fantasy fiction. ✨ I love T. Kingfisher's writing and I am excited to be reading Swordheart, one of her novels I haven't read yet. Also... going outside of my comfort zone a bit with Stephen King! Trying his novel, Fairy Tale, which seems fantasy-leaning. I'm reading Fairy Tale along with my friend Phillip Hall! 📚 Do you have any reading plans for this month? Happy Day! 🩷

Hello, my friends! ☺️ Today I'm sharing a wrap-up of the manga selections I read during October. The all-manga video I shared a few weeks ago was a big flop.🤣I don't know how much manga I will continue to share in videos. I know some of you tuning in here enjoy manga, so I will share it here sometimes.📖 Much of my manga reading this month was devoted to continuing some series I've been enjoying. A great treat was getting the new Spy x Family (vol. 14) in English — what fun! I read vol. 2 of A Business Proposal, and I'm really enjoying this rom-com series. Vol. 5 of A Sign of Affection, another sweet romance series. Vols. 10 & 11 of The Way of the Househusband--hilarious fun! Vol. 2 of Witch Hat Atelier... the art in this series is great and the story is rather cute, but I'm not sure I'll continue with it. I started a new-to-me series, Ascendance of a Bookworm--very cute art... I will try one more volume of this, as the main character is charming. And I read vol 7. of Monstress: Devourer...another heavy but amazing issue! 📚 Let me know what you've been reading!!🩷
