More ARCHITECTURE! Nestled in the trees we have another stunning Craftsman home, but this one is extra special because of a specific feature; any guesses?

It's the beveled siding! Look at the way it adds so much dimension and interest to the home's profile.

If you're wondering why you haven't seen this type of siding at your local hardware store, it's because it's not currently "trendy". While I have a special place in my heart for underdog style, I especially love wood siding because I have no chill and like to re-paint paintable things very often. More maintenance, sure. More fun than vinyl, DEFINITELY!

Also note the beautiful wood plank soffits which you don't find all that often.

ARCHITECTURE! It's still porch season so as you rock/swing/sit the long days of summer away with a good book or needlepoint in hand, let's recap some simple terms.

Here's the deal with home terms - you don't need them until you NEED them!

Recently I found myself at the hardware store in search of tile that caps off the edge of other tiles to make the tile as a whole look nicer. Sound confusing? You bet. Had I used the word 'bullnose', my quest would have been far less challenging. Anyway, here are some railing terms you may or may not ever need!

Also, please note the gorgeous ceiling and beautiful simplicity of this porch - lovely!
