Podcast channel sharing stories and experiences of living with your loss of a child, baby or sibling.

Bereaved Parents Club

We have been absent these last few weeks. I wanted to share with you my own personal journey and my need to retreat, which has helped me a lot these last two years.

We all have our extra hard timelines, and mine is November and December. Then I find transitioning into another year without George so very difficult. I feel lighter as we get towards February.

I wanted to share my words and my beautiful creative boy took the background photo in his favourite park when he was larger than life with his friends in 2016:

In grief, it's ok to sometimes batten down the hatches and sit alone with your pain and love for your loved one.

Sometimes we need that silent space of calm and quiet away from the chaos of the world and all its noise and demands.

It can help restore and strengthen your core.
To cope and carry your love again with what this new year may bring.

With love Tracy
(George's Mum)

How do you manage the loss of your child and loved one at Christmas.

Abi May Mum to Pax ❤️ and Catherine ❤️ shares her experience of coping with the onslaught of Christmas Festivities in podcast episode 17 No Ho Christmas:

It might help if you have some ideas of what you want to do?

You might want to stop watching live TV to avoid all the emotional Christmas Ads and instead just stream episodes you are comfortable in watching.
Christmas films can be emotional seeing families reunited. Avoid anything triggering that makes you feel worse.

Some bereaved parents like to get away as counties abroad do not celebrate it like the UK. Be mindful that holiday resorts do Christmas for western tourists and you may miss the security and safety of your home environment.

Its important to just do what feels right to you, even with things like Christmas cards.

Update On Caitlins Campaign:

Podcast episode 15 Caitlins Campaign was with Caitlin's Mum Sharron who has been an incredible force in raising awareness for young driver safety and has tirelessly campaigned for the graduated driving license to become law in the UK.

Sharron has worked with Brake, the road safety charity and RoadPeace and has set up the forget-me-not uniting families Facebook group. There is a new website for her campaign called https://www.protectyoungdrivers.com/getinvolved.

Sharron recently met with the Secretary of State for Transport Heidi Alexander at the Department for Transport in London and was able to speak about her campaigning for the graduated driving license and to advocate for young driver safety to be included in the governments forthcoming Road Safety Strategy.

Please read our latest blog on Caitlin's campaign with the latest news and clips from Sharron's recent interviews with BBC and Sky News.
