Someone mentioned in a video comment that I should update you the viewers via the YouTube Community function. That sounded like a great idea. Unfortunately I forgot about that until last night and thought I would look into doing something about it today. Attached are a couple pictures of what I have been up to. I got myself a motorcycle. It is a Himalayan made by Royal Enfield. I used to have quite a few different motorcycles as a young man but haven't had one since getting married and raising a family almost four decades ago. I have had everything from a big street bike to a hot 2 cycle dirt bike as well as many others in between those two extremes. Well Connie and I had the good fortune of getting a temporary job of highway safety flagging for a highway maintenance upgrade project last summer and I used some of my earnings to buy the motorcycle. The pictures are of a camping trip I did solo across the Denali Highway here in Alaska in early June. I also bought a sit-on-top Kayak and have outfitted it for fishing use. Been enjoying going out on local lakes and fishing with it since. Life is good for Connie and I and I hope and wish the same for you and all of your loved ones as well. This is a trying time we here in the USA are going through but I believe we will be much better off on the far side once we weather this storm. I hope now to be dropping in here once in a while to update you all. Connie and I miss you folks but we are not ready to go through all the hassles again of recording, editing and putting up videos yet if at all.
Love you all

I have been working on a project that I was going to do several videos on and discovered that I did not have everything I needed to complete the project. That fact along with life and obligations also getting in the way, I'm sorry to report that I will not be able to post a video this week. Depending again on how life goes, I may not be able to do these particular videos that I had planned for maybe up to 5 weeks from now. It all depends on when we can make our next trip to town and whether we go from town directly out to our remote cabin or whether we come back home here for a while before going out to our cabin. I also have some obligations next week as well but will try my best to still get a video of some sort uploaded to the channel. The project that I am working on is I'm making a tent that I think will be the ultimate bushcraft cold weather tent that basically anybody can make. I think and hope that you are going to love it as I know I sure am going to. I have been wanting one of these style of tents for years now and don't know why I had not thought of making one years ago. I will be making modifications to this one that should make it an ideal tent for cold weather use without a stove. In other words this should be a great common man's tent that will open up winter camping to many who may not have thought that they could camp in the winter. That's all I'm going to say about it at this time. Be watching for the videos to be uploaded some time in the not so distant future to learn more. Thanks for all the great support to the channel my friends and everybody have a great start to the new year.

Well I did get my drone up and running but I'm sorry to report that I crashed it. I was trying out one of the "intelligent" flight modes and discovered too late that the term "intelligent" was a bit optimistic. I had set the drone to follow me as i walked along. It did not follow, instead it just sat there hovering until all of a sudden it took off on a tangent and flew directly into the tree line. I tried canceling the settings but the errant drone maneuver was too sudden and I was not able to avoid disaster. The drone itself is fine but the more fragile camera gimbal has got a problem. I have been avoiding tearing the thing apart to see if I can fix it because i have a poor memory and am a bit intimidated by the thought of trying to "fix" this thing. Not sure if I'll remember how to get it all back together once i have it tore down. There arte excellent videos online however walking one through teh whole process to I guess I need to just dive in when ever I can get the special tools required. I'm sure that DJI would say it was my fault since I did not operate the drone within the limitations of it's capability. So I would have to pay to have it professionally repaired but I can't really afford that especially after having bought the expensive drone. Sooooo no promises on when you the viewers will see drone footage in the videos but I will eventually get it back in the air. It was awesome to fly when it was working though. I was enjoying myself getting used to managing the flights and learning the drones capabilities.

Just another little bit of news that i personally am really excited about. For a long time now I have wanted a drone so as to be able to further enhance the enjoyment of watching my videos for you viewers. Well I "bit the bullet" as we say here in America and bought me a drone. I bought the DJI Mavic Platinum. I am *VERY* anxious to get this device up in the air and begin to learn how to operate it. I have discovered that none of my three Android devices will run the power hungry app that is required to fly the drone so I had to also buy me a new Android. This has been a long process of figuring this all out and getting it accomplished since we live so far out of town. Hopefully tonight I will be receiving the new android and hope to take the "bird" for it's maiden flight Friday. Wish me luck. lol

Hey friends and followers. Just wanted to connect here with ya a little bit and bring everyone up to date with a few things that are happening here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival.
I recently received a request from a deaf person to enable Cosed Captions (CC) for my videos. Luckily someone else from the community of viewers had volunteered to convert the audio to text on some of my videos so that CC could be used. That is extremely appreciated by both me as well as the hearing impaired people and a big thanks go out to that individual or individuals who are doing that for the channel. If that sounds like something that you would like to get involved with yourself, there are still plenty of videos that remain to be modified. You can find out which ones need yet to be worked on by going to the following link, I think. I know that both IOS as well as android have apps available that will convert speech to text and perhaps that is how this video CC business can be semi automated. I do not know that for sure since I have not tried it myself.
