Naoya Inoue, the undisputed super bantamweight champion, has been approached by unbeaten Australian Sam Goodman, who is currently the IBF's mandatory challenger. Goodman has decided to take a tuneup fight in July and is now targeting Inoue's December date instead. This means Inoue is free to make a voluntary title defense in September before revisiting the Australian. Many expect Inoue to move up to the featherweight division soon.There are several options available for Inoue at present. He could face John Riel Casimero, a former three-weight world champion from the Philippines, who holds wins over Amnat Ruenroeng, Charlie Edwards, and Zolani Tete. Murodjon Akhmadaliev, a 29-year-old Uzbekistan star, was supposed to fight Inoue last year but was relieved of his unified super bantamweight crown by Marlon Tapales. Given that Inoue is the biggest money option available in this weight class, Murodjon Akhmadaliev would be more than happy to accept the assignment.TJ Doheny, an Irish fighter, has as much of a right to secure the Inoue fight as Casimero or Akhmadaliev. Doheny has become a crowd favorite in Japan since he upset Ryosuke Iwasa for the IBF super bantamweight title in 2018. Despite blowing hot in cold in subsequent years, Doheny has fought his last three fights in Tokyo and won them all by stoppage.Who will Naoya Inoue fight next? WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has agreed to fight Frank Martin on June 15 in an event that promises to be more exciting than Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul. The event will also feature David Benavidez vs Alexandr Gvozdyk for the WBC interim super middleweight title. During the press conference event in Las Vegas, Davis jumped on stage and got his own show going, while Frank Martin seemed tense during the exchange. Davis made a mistake by placing his hand on Martin's face, and he slapped it down. After the event, Davis interrupted his interview with press members and expressed his excitement to be back in the ring and promised to give fans the best boxing they've seen up to date.
