My channel is dedicated to sharing the rugged, wild beauty of the British Isles and the adventures and stories you can find here.
Hi, Iβm Chloe. I grew up in the Devonshire countryside, though seeking adventure, moved to Cumbria with my husband, Ryan, and our spaniel, Cam.
Since Ryan was serving as a Royal Marine, βthis put us 300 miles apart (at best). We knew we wanted to spend our days exploring the Lake District and, after years of uncertainty, found ourselves on the move yet again.
This time, we found our countryside dream ~ a historic cottage in the fells and Ryan has now joined me full time back in the North.
As well as sharing my outdoor pursuits, from hiking to wild camping and wild swimming, I enjoy weaving notes on the landscape, history, personal philosophy and folklore throughout my videos.
Join us on our adventures as we continue to explore βfell & daleβ and settle into rural countryside life.
Fables & Fells
It appears to have been over 6 months since I last posted.
My apologies for unintentionally going dark π I must have fallen through the stones for a while π
I'm now working full-time as a video editor while still running my small business, and there's only so much time in the day (despite the glorious long hours of daylight we're enjoying currently).
It's a shame the channel took the hit these last months as I put a lot of work in and it was bobbing along nicely, but being on camera so frequently is not really a fit with my hermit personality π That said, I do miss shooting my own projects, and I truly appreciate the lovely messages from those of you who have missed the videos and find peace in them.
Ryan is his usual happy self (he's currently cooking me a big curry feast - marry someone who loves cooking, it's a winner) and we've been enjoying a novelty temperate climate in our draughty Georgian home π
Cam has had a rough run of it. He managed not one but two paw injuries, one of which ended up needing surgery. Thankfully he's back to his usual bouncy self now. Animals mean so much to me, and while he was miserable, I was miserable.
I can't promise I'll suddenly become wildly consistent, but I hope to share more of our little adventures again. Thanks for sticking around, if you indeed are π€

There's deep snow, bitterly cold wind chill and lots of Cam πΎ

I vary my topics quite a bit, which I think confuses YouTube (and perhaps you) as they haven't been sharing to subscribers as much lately, or elsewhere. So if you haven't seen it, you can find the latest video here ππΌ
This was a whopper edit, and probably not sustainable, but I wanted to try and do the cottage/story somewhat justice.
It may not being a designated hiking or wild camping video, though there is still lots of footage of this in the fells.
Hope you find it cosy for a Sunday βπ₯
Thanks for being here ππΌ

Hello ππΌ and (somewhat belated) happy new year to you βοΈ
Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments on my videos last year. Your encouragement has been truly astounding.
I never imagined so many expats and those who can no longer hike enjoying my videos. It has been such a joy to connect you to the landscape here in the Lakes.
If you haven't seen the latest video, you can find it below ππΌ
The next one will be out... this weekend! (Back-to-back weekends, I think that's a first for me π )
If there's anything you'd like to see, do let me know as I will be thinking on upcoming videos and topics for the season ahead β°οΈ

Happy Halloween π
I have a new video coming out soon (still grappling with the edit due to a couple setups with audio and harddrive) but it's in the works!
It's a big update and I'm excited to share it as soon as I can.
In the meantime, here's one to watch if you haven't seen it ππΌ
I hope it provides a little Halloween mood π€

Morning, hope you are well π
We are having a very mixed summer here in Cumbria (and probably the rest of the UK?). Some days feel November-esque with daytime temps of 12 degrees, high winds and rain lashing down.
However, a few sunny, hot days have made an appearance. Fingers crossed we get a few more as there's nothing nicer than stepping out into the garden at 5am knowing that it's going to be bright day.
My favourite part of summer is seeing the wildflower meadows. There is one area I'm hoping you shoot, if the delicate petals haven't all be been blown and washed away π
The foxgloves are also looking specular at the moment. Many lower level walks to be enjoyed.
That said, I am missing the higher fells so I will get us back out there as soon as I can.
In the meantime, if you missed it, you can find the latest video here: https://youtu.be/rPCbsJhw4gY
Have a lovely weekend πΌ
