📢 ISO Image Size Limit Increased to 7 GB
Custom ISO uploads let you boot and install any system you need when standard OS templates aren’t enough. Just upload your image and get full control of your server environment.
We've expanded the capabilities for uploading custom ISO images to HOSTKEY virtual servers. The maximum size for each ISO file has now been increased from 5 GB to 7 GB.
What this means for you:
🔹 More flexibility: ability to upload larger distributions and comprehensive recovery tools;
🔹 Wider OS selection: support for modern distributions with extended installation packages;
🔹 Enhanced diagnostics: upload full-featured rescue images with all necessary utilities.
ISO upload parameters remain:
- Maximum number of files: 2 ISO images
- Maximum size per file: 7 GB (previously 5 GB)
Upload is performed through the control panel in the Information → Console and IPMI access → Mount common or rescue ISO image as CD → Upload ISO section.
You can use direct links to official distribution repositories or your own file storage. The upload process starts with one click and the system will automatically notify you when complete.
💡 At HOSTKEY, we continuously improve our infrastructure and expand capabilities for administrators. More control, more freedom, more performance.

⚡️ AI Is Powering a New Energy Race
The rapid acceleration of AI technologies is transforming data centers into some of the world’s most demanding energy consumers. According to Bloomberg, electricity demand from AI training and services could quadruple within a decade, making data centers one of the fastest-growing energy users globally.
🔹 By 2035, global data center consumption could hit 1,600 TWh (about 4.4% of worldwide electricity). That would rank just behind China, the U.S., and India in total consumption.
🔹 In the U.S., demand is surging fastest. Data centers are already outpacing electric vehicles and other emerging technologies in power growth rates.
🔹 A new generation of hyperscale facilities is emerging: where 5 MW once sufficed, today’s projects demand hundreds of megawatts, even gigawatt-scale power.
While short-term supply gaps are often covered by natural gas, the long-term winners will be clean energy. Operators face mounting pressure from policymakers, climate targets, and customers who demand growth without additional environmental damage.
Even with gains in efficiency (average PUE projected to fall from 1.4 to 1.2 by 2030), the explosive demand for compute will outpace improvements. AI infrastructure is no longer just a computing challenge. It’s reshaping entire energy systems.
Tech giants are already adapting: Meta recently announced plans to sell electricity directly, following AWS, Google, and Microsoft.
The AI boom is not only a race for compute. It’s a race for energy. For industry leaders, access to power is as critical as access to GPUs.
⚡️ At HOSTKEY, we deploy high-performance infrastructure in data centers where electricity reserves are secure for the long term and, more importantly, 100% green. For example, our GPU servers in Iceland are powered by geothermal energy: a carbon-neutral, scalable source that ensures both sustainability and performance growth.

🔒 Looking Beyond Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?
While tools like Google Meet and Teams are convenient, they don’t always meet enterprise standards for privacy, security, and control.
In our recent research, we explored alternatives and found that self-hosted, open-source solutions often provide the balance businesses need:
✔️ Jitsi Meet — proven, easy to deploy in a few clicks, ideal for distributed teams
✔️ BigBlueButton — designed for online learning
✔️ NextCloud Talk — combines video with file sharing
💡Why it matters: with self-hosted platforms, all communications stay within your corporate infrastructure, giving you full control over data flows and encryption.

🚀 Key Insights from Anthropic’s “Economic Index” (Sept 2025): Uneven but accelerating AI adoption
Anthropic’s latest research highlights how AI adoption is spreading across geographies and enterprises:
🔹Geographic inequality — High per-capita usage in Singapore, Israel, South Korea, and Australia; significantly lower in emerging economies like India, Indonesia, and Nigeria. Even within the US, smaller states like DC and Utah lead ahead of California.
🔹Different use patterns — Mature markets diversify into education, science, and collaborative “augmentation.” Lower-adoption regions lean more on coding and “automation-first” use.
🔹Enterprise vs. consumer AI — Businesses use APIs for automation-heavy tasks such as coding, administration, and marketing content generation. By contrast, consumer users lean more toward educational and creative tasks.
🔹Data & context as bottlenecks — Many enterprises face friction because essential information isn’t digitized or centralized. The challenge isn’t just computation — it’s how data flows through the organization.
📊The big picture: AI adoption is not uniform. Economic capacity, infrastructure, and digital maturity shape how and where the benefits of AI are realized. Those who fail to adapt risk falling behind.

How do professionals host WordPress websites?
WordPress is the world’s most popular CMS — free, flexible, and powerful. You can build anything with it: from a blog to a full-scale e-commerce platform.
But the real difference lies in where your WordPress runs.
On shared hosting, you’re limited by your plan and by other users sharing the same server. On your own virtual server, it’s a completely different story:
▪️ You configure the server's parameters and resource usage.
▪️ Data stays on your server only — advanced security.
▪️ Any third-party tools for analytics and SEO can be integrated.
▪️ For e-commerce, you can run an online store database on a separate secure server.
💡 The best part? We’ve done the setup for you.
In HOSTKEY’s marketplace, WordPress comes pre-installed. Just pick your server in a couple of clicks and start building: hostkey.com/apps/website-cms/wordpress/
Stability, security, and full control — things shared hosting can’t offer.
⚠️ Note: managing a server requires some advanced skills. But for those who want maximum performance and flexibility, this is the most professional way.
