Hello and welcome to my channel. I am your host Dr. Sledgehammer.
I review video games of different generations and genres. Right now, my main focus is on retro games, as I can present you with games that I enjoyed very much. Games that hold a special place in my heart. I am trying my best to show you games you might have forgotten or some amazing games that you may have never heard of and should probably check out. Hidden gems are frequently featured on this channel and in most cases, I will tell you how to get the game and how you can get it to work properly.
Enjoy your stay!

Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s been four years since I started this crazy journey on YouTube. Time flies when you’re turning wild ideas into reality! Today, I wanted to take a moment to look back at where it all began. Below, you'll find a snapshot from the very first skit I shot for Thief: The Dark Project. It’s a nostalgic reminder of how far we’ve come.
When I first started, I was inspired by one of my personal heroes, James Rolfe, aka the Angry Video Game Nerd. I dreamed of creating scenes that were just as imaginative and outlandish. Whether it’s making a hammer float, getting knocked out by my own doppelganger, or transforming my main character into Alex Jones—yes, that happened—I’ve always wanted to bring my craziest thoughts to life. I even punched a fried chicken sandbag on my balcony once, which, fun fact, led to a pedestrian spraining her ankle and screaming through the neighborhood. It’s been a wild ride, to say the least!
In that first video, I was just figuring things out. In the skit in the image I used audio straight from the tv because I hadn’t yet wrapped my head around the concept of separating sound from video. I remember downloading Shotcut, staring at the screen, and wondering, “Where the heck is the cut function?” I had no clue about lighting, audio, or editing. My setup was as basic as it gets—a piece of crap old laptop (which took four hours to render each video! 10 times for thief alone), a Logitech webcam, a cheap mic, and a table lamp. But you know what? That was enough to get started, and that’s what matters.
Now, let’s talk about success. I set myself a goal of reaching 1,000 subscribers in three years—a milestone that I have yet to reach. due to external circumstances I have not been fully active since March 2022, which influenced the result. But here’s the thing: Success isn’t just about the numbers. I may not be where I envisioned, but I’ve grown so much as a creator. From barely knowing how to trim a clip to making hammers float and creating on-screen projections of myself running around my apartment—I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
I’m closer than ever to achieving my goal of becoming a better filmmaker, and for that, I’m truly happy. Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support means the world to me, and I’m excited to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Here’s to the next chapter of creativity and chaos! 🚀

I can't quite put my finger on it, but this milestone feels different – in the best way possible. It's giving me a profound sense of security as we journey towards monetization together. The fact that 400 of you find my content worthy of a subscription is truly mind-blowing. If we could all gather in one spot, it would be a massive crowd, and I'm immensely grateful for each and every one of you.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
I'm tempted to create a celebratory video, but I've decided to hold off until we reach an even bigger milestone. I've been cherishing the fact that our video timeline is mainly filled with game reviews, and I don't want to deviate by spamming update videos just yet.
As mentioned before, our immediate goal is to monetize the channel, until it becomes big enough for me to at least be able to afford all the props that we use in our comedy skits (or the games for that matter!). That way we can concentrate on ramping the comedy aspect of the channel up to videos closer to Dangerous Dave/Fahrenheit/Parasite Eve/The Grinch, and others.
However, I must address a challenge I'm currently facing – consistency. Being an entrepreneur in real life, my time is quite limited. I understand the importance of consistency in the YouTube algorithm, and I'm committed to overcoming this hurdle. Life occasionally throws unexpected curveballs my way, leading to longer breaks that the algorithm doesn't take kindly to. I assure you, I'm making it a priority to minimize these interruptions and maintain a more regular upload schedule. While I can't promise a video every four weeks, I can guarantee it won't be another three months before you hear from me again (even if it is just a crappy update video).
Once again, a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. I appreciate your support immensely, and I'm excited for what the future holds for our channel.
I will see you guys on the next Sledgehammer Review! Bye

Enter Sledgehammer shirt number 3. I have been looking for a shirt with the same design for two years. I have always been afraid to damage my two other shirts. I almost ruined them with blood and mud in my videos and recently they started to tear because I finally started working out again and regained my pre-COVID muscle mass.
So if anyone is making a YouTube channel and wants to wear a uniform for his "character" keep it simple!
