It was one of those small, casual details she shared in her latest Harper’s Bazaar interview — but the conversation went much deeper than little habits like this.

She also opened up about how she deals with other people’s opinions, what she thinks about criticism and labels, and something she has learned about seeing herself differently.

Shen Yue × Harper’s Bazaar 💛✨

We have another beautiful Shen Yue feature to enjoy!

In her conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, Shen Yue opened up about her growth over the past few years, her decision to live in Xiamen, and something I think many people will connect with — learning to define your life for yourself rather than constantly living according to other people’s expectations.

One line especially stood out:

“In my world, I want to be the protagonist.”

And then there’s the question she often reminds herself of:

“What is good? Who is the judge?”

Such simple words, but they say so much about the Shen Yue we’ve been watching grow over the years. 💛

Harper’s Bazaar also shared beautiful behind-the-scenes moments from Hong Kong — Shen Yue by Victoria Harbour, wandering through a vintage bookstore, and simply enjoying the city in those quieter moments between filming.

From the shy young woman we first met to someone increasingly comfortable defining life on her own terms… it’s lovely watching that journey unfold. 🌙✨

There’s something so sweet about seeing fans turn Shen Yue’s latest campaign into their own little celebration. 🥹💛

With Shen Yue currently working with Simcare, her Golden Camellia campaign has been appearing on large outdoor screens — and fans have been going out to find them, taking photos, making hearts, and proudly showing their support. 🌼

I think moments like this are a beautiful reminder that supporting an artist doesn’t always have to be something huge. Sometimes it’s simply showing up, celebrating their opportunities, and letting the brands working with them see just how loved they are.

And seeing Shen Yue smiling from those enormous screens while fans pose underneath them somehow makes the whole campaign feel even more special. 💛

Such a lovely show of support for both Shen Yue and her collaboration with Simcare. 🌙✨

If someone asked you to define GROWTH in one word, I’d show them this. 🌙✨

2018 → 2026.

Same Shen Yue.
Same Changchun Film Festival.
But look at the journey in between. 🥹

Sometimes growth doesn’t happen loudly. Sometimes it looks like continuing when nobody knows how hard you’re trying. It looks like believing in yourself when the results aren’t immediate, getting back up when things don’t go as planned, and choosing to keep moving forward anyway.

And I think Shen Yue has quietly shown us something beautiful:

Don’t give up on yourself.

Keep believing.
Keep learning.
Keep moving.
Keep becoming.

Because one day, you may look back and realize that the version of you who refused to give up was the reason you became who you are today. ❤️
