Hello, and welcome to my channel!

My name is Nicholas. I'm a railfan Richmond, VA and I have loved trains my whole life! In fact, trains are the majority of the content you'll find on this channel. I'll also make other videos on occasion reflecting off my other interests. I'm also into military stuff, anime, History, animals, cars, farming, food, classic stuff, and much more. Notable work on this channel includes railfanning, gaming (including Eight Marbles and some older Mario games), and more. The Trainz series, Rails of Highland Valley, is also featured here. So if you're a fan of any of that, then you've come to the right place.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my stuff! :)

Anyone else catch the Residual Haunting reference in Part 4?

When the UP heritage units are meeting to discuss Misty's disappearance (it's almost a literal vanish without a trace, as UP #1995 mentions that UP officials were unable to locate her on the tracker; indicating that her kidnappers disabled her tracking device), Eddy says "Perhaps Misty was kidnapped by a ghost steamer and vanished into the unknown".

The bridge in that fantasy is the same one as in Residual Haunting, and the FEF-3 was also numbered 836.

What makes it more like Residual Haunting is that the other heritage units, Mark in particular, didn't believe Eddy. The only difference is that in RH, Eddy was telling the truth about the ghost, but the others didn't believe him, while in the ROHV episode, Eddy's statement was merely a conspiracy theory.

The difference in size between the two locomotives really shows.

What was your favorite classic train series out of the following?

I remember watching all five of these back in 4th/5th grade. Sad that they've all been cancelled, and that two of them no longer exist... but I guess that's why I still do ROHV: to try to keep their legacies alive.

For those that remember The Tiblopocas Line, I have had thoughts about making an episode of ROHV similar to Episode 4 of the aforementioned series.

It would take place in probably mid 2017, between the events of Episodes 12 and 13 of the original series. Nicholas is hearing from his friends on CSX, including Tiffany, Jessie, Momoka, Bob, Larry (ES44AH), Jaleel, Barry (CSX), etc., about how EHH's Precision Scheduled Railroading has been negatively impacting CSX, and he naturally feels sorry for them (of course not expecting this to happen to his own railroad a year later).

One day, the CSX OCS train (with EHH on board) is headed to Philadelphia, and Mr. Edwards receives word from dispatch that the train is detouring over the NS Pittsburgh Line, and they need a NS leader due to cab signaling. Shawn, wanting to once again show off his experience with excursion trains (callback to Episode 5 of the original series (which like most of the other older ROHV media, is subject to remastering)), volunteers for the job. Meanwhile, Nicholas sees this as an opportunity to get revenge on EHH for the damage he did to CSX, as well as CP, CN, and IC. So he and his friends come up with a plan to mess up Shawn's trip.

A few treats from Ashland, VA today.

1: CSX M408 NB with a reactivated Dash 8 and some Dash 9s in tow. Could tell they were reactivated because they still had their horns, and their smokestacks were not capped. Hey, I’m not complaining at all! I’m glad to see them back!

2: Amtrak P125 SB with Phase IV HU #164. One reason 164 (formerly 184) is my favorite Amtrak HU is because I love how it matches the coaches it’s pulling. My favorite classic Amtrak scheme is Phase III though (I love 145, but it would be cooler if it had the actual Genesis Phase III scheme. I mean they did the Pepsi Can one, so I don’t see why not).

3: CSX M369 NB with a BNSF C44-9W leader. Notice how the second unit is the, as someone called it, “Gruesome Twosome”. It’s supposed to be an H2 Dash 9, but has H1 paint on the long hood.

These are the three trains I also recorded on my phone, to add to my Instagram story. Other trains I’ve caught here include CSX L134 (turn local) with a solo ex-L&N GP38-2, CSX I031 with an SD70MAC leader, two separate Phase VII P42 leaders (one led P079, the other led P092/P040), P053 had a triple pack of P40DCs, also Amtrak P093 had my first Phase VII Amfleet (in the scheme reminiscent of the short lived old Capstone Acela Regional livery). Also tested out my new GoPro with a few of the trains.

Anyone else remember this? Since last year, I’ve sometimes been rewatching a lot of those old Trainz/MSTS videos from way back when. Nostalgia..

Looks like Ashland got one of those information signs (with boarding announcements) like what they have at stations along the Northeast Corridor. Hopefully no more confusion among passengers about which side they need to be on!

"One last thing, who's the better pilot, you or me?"

I know I’m a few days late, but rest in peace Val Kilmer (he’s most famous for playing Lt. Iceman in the movie Top Gun, and its sequel, Top Gun: Maverick). Keep flying those F-14s in the big sky! Say hi to Goose for us.
