Position Title: Medical Coordinator
Department: Healthcare coordination
Reports to: Healthcare team
Location: Tamilnadu, Pondicherry
Work mode – (Work from home) freelancer model
Job Summary:
The Medical Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of patient care, healthcare services, and administrative tasks within the medical facility. This role involves overseeing patient scheduling, facilitating communication between medical staff, patients, and external providers, and managing medical records and documentation. The Medical Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining high standards of care and ensuring that operations run seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care Coordination:
o Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures.
o Communicate with patients regarding care plans, follow-ups, and appointment reminders.
o Facilitate coordination of care between Field health executive and with external healthcare providers.
o Assist with patient registration and ensure that all patient information is accurately recorded and updated.
2. Administrative Support:
o Maintain and organize patient medical records and ensure they comply with legal and medical guidelines.
o Manage communication (emails, phone calls, etc.) between medical staff and patients.
o Prepare reports, documentation, and forms for healthcare staff as needed.
o Assist in insurance verification, authorization of treatments, and claims processing when required.
3. Medical Staff Assistance:
o Act as a liaison between medical personnel, administrative staff, and patients.
o Coordinate meetings, conferences, and training sessions for healthcare professionals.
o Ensure all healthcare providers have access to necessary patient records, reports, and test results.
4. Compliance and Quality Control:
o Ensure all patient care and administrative procedures adhere to facility policies, industry standards, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
o Monitor and assist in maintaining the highest levels of care quality and patient satisfaction.
o Implement and enforce protocols related to patient privacy, safety, and infection control.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, paramedical or a related healthcare field. A medical assistant certificate or related certification is a plus.
Experience: Fresher or experience
Desirable Skills:
o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Proficiency in healthcare software (e.g., electronic medical records) and Microsoft Office.
o Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
